I agree. While OR might well be more immersive, there are certain things to take into account. Let's say for a minute that you're playing with OR in a Battle of Britain simulator - you're going to actually have to physically look right behind, to the left/right or above you, which might get a bit tiring. With Track IR, sure it doesn't fully immerse you but neither will it give you a stiff neck. ;)

So, of all the posts in this thread the "Head of rendering" over at FD chooses to comment on the Anaglyph Glasses?

As I said. Why aren't the press writing more about these bad boys!? :D

I confess I have a soft spot for the old school 3D of anaglyph and I knew it'd only take me around a day to add .... so I did :)

I work with brain researchers so I'll try and borrow one of them for a bit and see if I can get an explanation from them and whether there is any truth in this.

But wait .... when was ED originally going to be released again? ;)

The trouble with KS projects is they tend to create a lot of hype before the real issues have been fixed. Last I looked, OR had supply-chain issues with 1080p TFT panels. Kind of a big deal they wanted to fix before announcing release schedule or price.

So meanwhile I'll be flying my Sidewinder with archaic 2d flat-panels...

They've switched to OLED displays.. not sure if that makes sourcing them easier or harder. I imagine they'd be using Samsung for that though, so they should be able to source enough if Samsung can produce enough for many times more phones than the Rift will sell in its first year.

Also with supposed competition from Sony (personally I don't see how the PS4 can produce the necessary graphics to make it as compelling but we shall see) they can't afford to hang about too long.

ED Gets a Mention on Radio 5 Live 'Up all Night'

For no apparent reason I woke up at 3am last night :eek: and switched on the radio. They were talking about video games (slipage), Kickstarter, Star Citizen and ED. :rolleyes:

Usually the radio puts me back to sleep as they are talking about the petty bickering between pointless politicians. This time though I woke up more. Then they started talking about Rowandan cyclists ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz.
