It looks like from 2.4 going forward to "Beyond", Elite Dangerous base game is .... ummm kind of 'dead', say hello to Horizons which is very much alive ! If anyone doesn't update to Horizons now, with all the free updates next year, they probably never will.

I bought SC many years ago when you could only fly the 300i and I waited another year until I got ED. ED had way more content and now it seems SC has pulled their fingers out their butt and are actually delivering. ED content delivery was slow previously, but now Fdev have a few other game titles to work on, it's even slower.

I'm not one of the 'ED is dead' people, but I do believe that it's circling the drain. With the slow content roll-out and the secretive 'Soon™ and no comment' that gives us no clue as to where the game is headed, it's just pushing people away a little at a time. All my buddies that played have vanished and they were avid ED players, and it breaks my heart to see a game that had so much promise circle the drain.

The grandkids of the crowd funders should enjoy the full version of SC.

I wish they hadn't called it "beyond". kind of reeks too much of the jjtrekverse. Otherwise it's all good, impressed by the plans going forward and appreciate the QoL updates will be free for horizon owners; understandable that realistically atmospherics and spacelegs won't be integrated anytime soon.
