Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Deluxe in epic games

I was able to work around this by doing the following
1) Open Launcher
2) Options - Logout Machine
3) Close launcher
4) Start game from Epic
5) It will ask if you want to login or create new account
6) Select New Account this will take you to a web page asking for new account details on the right and existing account sign in on the left
7) Sign in with existing account
8) a pop up should open asking if it's ok to launch the launcher
9) now shows odyssey launcher

smeggy, thanks for taking the time to explain the steps, but I still can't get them to work.
I got ED: Horizons from Epic, but decided to show Frontier some love by buying Odyssey direct from them. Now I am stuck in the loop where Epic and their PoS launcher has no idea I bought Odyssey and Frontier has no idea I bought the base game.

I have sent a reply to the ticket I have open for another Odyssey install issue, but this is frustrating as hell. Any ideas?

Raised this issue for the problem
I tried the solution posted here, but it simply didn't work. I was however able to get an immediate refund for both Elite Dangerous and the Odyssey DLC without any issue.
