Elite Dangerous Odyssey: Fix Implemented for 'Mauve Adder' Issues

Managed my orbital drop and in and out of witchspace.

So far so good.

Now if only you can get the DEVs to work on the heat performance (i know, that would have to be a different thread)
 
A problem I don't normally have is updates wiping my keybindings - but this update has done that.
I have a backup from just over a month ago, I copy that over the bindings files ( 3 & 4 ) and load game - still all my 'Custom' bindings are missing.

Thanks FDev - I'm really not sure I can bothered to spend the next hour trying to rebind all my keys again ( being left handed all the keys are pretty much wrong for me by default ).

I was going to check to see if settlements have playable frame rates yet but just standing in the hanger looking in any direction I can see my GPU is stilling at 100% usage with the temperature climbing. My frames are capped at 60 but it can't even reach that. ( actually GPU Usage is 98-100% even in the Main Menu! FPS at 54 )

What's the point of releasing 5 big updates with almost 1000 fixes if the biggest problem(performance) remains your lowest priority ?

Before you go, I'm hoping that there may be a very quick and easy fix for your issue.

When you backed up your binds before, did you rename them to anything other than Custom.binds?

The reason I ask, is I have my binds backed up, but also renamed (my example is whiteshadow.binds), so when I import these back into the relevant folder, and then start the game, my binds file shows in the dropdown list as Whiteshadow, and not Custom (which we know gets wiped with every update)

Just wondering if, when you go into binds, and chose from the dropdown which binds file to load, your backed up one isn't showing as something else other than "Custom"?

Columbi's Heaven in Witch Head! avoid taking a shuttle there as there is currently a poi station sitting ontop of it which is blocking the shuttles flight path, also loads of satellites scattered around it, Its a mess!

Thank you so much for your patience with the wave of 'Mauve Adder' errors encountered on deplyment of Update 5 this morning.
In order to implement a fix, we will be rebooting the Elite Dangerous:Odyssey servers at approximately 11:00 UTC/12:00 BST (HORIZONS PLAYERS ON PC SHOULD NOT EXPERIENCE THE REBOOT).
A short period of downtime is expected. I'll keep you updated here on progress.

Importantly:
  • Please be aware that the fix requires a 'rollback of missions', which will result in the removal of any missions that you may have managed to accept, following the update.

Apologies for the inconvenience on this.

I wish that FDev removed active missions during the previous 6.8 gig update (approx. 6h ago). I had several timeout and fail during that long download :(

Well that sounds chaos :( What's happening to the shuttle? Are you stuck in any critical loops and such? Let me know o7

The shuttle doesn't register the poi station as being there and try's to fly though it, i kept relogging and it eventually got a different pad which the shuttle traversed around ti differently thank god, however the place is a mess atm, the planet also seems to be trying to orbit through the asteriod feild soon so it seems more chaos may progress.

Also the combat mission spawn of the poi is making hell with doing anything with the station docking, the station is also blowing up every mission ship making this loop pass and start again quickly causing massive fps drops

As seen in last image we are about to hit the asteriod feild unless we hit the station poi first, cant leave with shuttle as i get a crash error when i try now, i presume its due to the combat, poi station or something blocking the pads.

Be nice to be able to get one of my small ships transported so i could try take my chances myself however there seems to be no option for that after you take a shuttle to a station....So right now, im no longer stuck in the shuttle however I am stuck in the station and reverting to horizons just gives me a login error i presume it doesn't know where to put me as i have no ships here

It completely ignores your bindings file is any device in it is not found - thanks to someone previous comment I double checked the
BindingLoadingErrors.log file and saw that it wasn't my stick that was a problem it was the rubber pedals, once I plugged in the peddles my 'Custom' setting were back again.

Jumping through a few systems a long way from populated space, so the FPS issue isn't really being stressed here, but this to me is really the first iteration that looks & feels like it could (or should have) been considered ready to leave Alpha. Not your call (or the team's) so obviously you can't comment …because that's a decision made by your boss, or boss's boss. But they should know that that's what I, and likely most (or the entirety) of the Beta Testing team on our end think. They're just lucky we like this game so much. Though for a very temporary short term gain they burnt through a pile of goodwill that'll never be quantified.

And I just ran into an invisible cactus (I can tell by the shadow), and with that final nail - I‘m done with the game until much later in the year, when things have had a real chance to be fixed and balanced.

AHA!! DESPITE this being the Mauve Adder thread, I'm looking for these mysterious invisible organics!!! I asked a commander earlier who's going to try and scan one to see if they can let me know which they are!
You didn't happen to see the name for it at all did you?
I know you're going to take a break and appreciate the patience you've had so far but If I can get one last little bit of juicy info on that cactus I would really appreciate it!

hehe, its not a bug , its a feature (stolen from Sony advertisement, decades ago ) :p

Logged in at the odyssey surface settlement I was in last night.

FPS was stuttery, seemingly getting real smooth frames mixed with chunky stuttering.

Every time I tried to leave the planet, the game would begin stuttering and the CTD every time.

Tried steam file validation, reboot, and uh, my GPU drivers were out of date so i installed those. Still CTD.

Ended up just self destructing to leave XD

yep, can confirm that - happens with Fonticulua, Osseus and others as well. In larger fields up to 5-10% are not shown, identifyable by Sample scanner only (you get the blue circle on the ground). Beeing stonewalled by invisible boulders still is an issue, easy to be found if you are flying low (50-80m aG), you can see the shadows of the boulders, but not themselves. Will attach screens in a few minutes.....
