(I don't suppose you considered modernising your PC so making it possible to replace your VGA card for something a little more current?)
My vga card is top shelf highest quality. It’s got like 256k memory onboard and everything.
Why upgrade when it does the job?!
I remember buying one of the 'new' Voodoo Graphics cards to play the original Doom / Wolfenstein games... Those were truly awesome for the day!
Life was indeed simpler back then. I have a secret desire that at some point Odyssey will have a “go to this disused factory/base” and clear out all the “zombies/face suckers/goons” using just your handgun and a crowbar mission...
Don't forget to optimise your autoexec.bat and config.sys.

Voodoo cards were released years after Doom, nevermind wolfenstein. Neither supported 3dfx cards. IIRC it started around the first Tomb Raider game.
Have to phone Mrs Columbo on that one.

I stand (well sit really) amazed at your recall... So what did I buy the VoodooFX card to run at the time, I don't remember! I started with a 286-16 and CGA card and worked up from there... EGA, VGA, SVGA...

Yes, 1996's Quake and Tomb Raider games (and their GL/Glide mods) were what drove 3D accelerator card adoption; the Voodoo 1 launched at the end of 1996.

Quake - I'm almost certain...
They were crazy days once gaming actually took off - I recall hardware moving at a stupidly quick pace, and loving it! (My bank account may not have felt the same some months!)
Half Life for me. The day I installed that was the day everything changed.
