Release Elite Dangerous Odyssey Materials Helper

I didn't link that commander until after the issue occurred, and I ensured it was linked to the correct tertiary Frontier account. The only one that was linked was my primary, and I linked that one in July 2023. I saw no reason to link the other two commanders because they don't have carriers.

Based on your description of how FC numbers are obtained, I suspect a possible glitch with Frontier's API. It may have something to do with that commander being my only one on a Steam account. It's impossible to tell for sure.

Is there currently a way to remove all carrier data without wiping the entire install?

There were 4 sub-folders within that folder. It was obvious that each was for a different commander (one was obviously a legacy commander). I looked at the odyssey_wishlist.json file in each folder, and figured out which folder to remove the fleetcarrier.json from. Renaming that file resolved my issue, so I went back and deleted it.

Firstly thank you for your wonderful App - it has made Odyssey a much more enjoyable experience!

Anyway, I have run into a problem with 2.45. It appeared to update automatically from 2.44 (a feature I wasn't aware of as I was usually prompted to download it and install manually). However, when it has completed 2.45 is not showing any of my wish lists – they have all disappeared!

Not being the most technically minded Windows user – is there any way to re-connect these or are there files for these stored somewhere?

files are stored in %localappdata%\odyssey-materials-helper in F* folders for each commander.
check that you have selected the correct commander in the app(bottom right corner).
Use the launcher(pacman program) that auto updates the application. This is the preferred way, since the application also communicates with 3rd party sites and the way they communicate sometimes changes.

I have installed the launcher and am on the correct commander (bottom right) but still none of my wish lists or load outs are showing. Is there anyway to import these? I assume the JSON files in the F folders are the old wishlists and loadouts? I am at a loss of how to get my loadouts and wish lists back!
 
The files are the current files. there are no old files. you can check if the wishlists present in the files, but if they are empty your wishlists are gone. If they are there and fail to show, there might be some corruption.
 
There is a bug in the auto updater of 2.46 and 2.47 where the app won't launch after installation. this has been resolved in 2.48 of the auto updater.
 
I see there is an option to export a wishlist to share with other commanders. How do other commanders import a shared wishlist?

That part doesn't connect the app to your Frontier account. It just makes it possible for website "edomh" links to send data to the app (like EDSY).

You connect to your Frontier account at the bottom of the settings page (lowest side tab). Note that linking to your Frontier account is only used for retrieving your carrier's inventory. Therefore, it's only useful if you have a carrier.

If you can't register it to handle edomh links, that might be due to an issue with your OS permissions. If you've installed to Program Files, try installing elsewhere.

I have an ED folder on a second drive where I install ED and all apps for it. They each have their own folder within it. I've yet to have any issues with permissions:

Nah, still won't register. I tried all the disks, even the flash drive
I even tried through the god folder to create a folder that had absolutely all possible permissions
still the same♾️

I have tried the game in both Windowed and Bordeless display modes, with the Materials Helper at maximised size (and hovered over cocktail glass to refresh). Multiple restarts of both game and helper. Does anyone know why this might happen? It worked fine on my Windows 10 setup.

this is happening due to the transparency of the window. the lights in the background make it hard to detect the material. approaching from a different angle can help in this case.

Thanks - I wish there were some way to dim down the background, or turn it off altogether and just have the text of the trade items without the bartender and his environs showing through.

Perhaps EDHM can mean something in that regard, but otherwise the bartender overlay is a bit gimmicky.
