BWAHAHAHAHAHA!TBH I'm more disappointed with what I see in the Dev Diary. Tenuous atmosphere still sounds like a joke in my head and no mention of ship interiors...
(I called this, btw, even if it were just mumbled to myself earlier today)

Lots of people are saying that today.New PC time?
Aye, that'll work@Stephen Benedetti does the word environments cover different planet surfaces or indoors and outdoors ie, in ships/stations/star port
Wait... David Braben.
Okay. I'll stay right here and stare at the screen until it happens.
Current EDSM entry for that planet for the curious.
I am kind of curious as to how you see the controls working for Odyssey? I play Elite in VR but I am totally not bothered by not having VR support at the launch of Odyssey. The only way it would work is if you could use the same control method for all aspects of the game (flying, driving and walking). I don't see many people using a HOTAS to walk around. Or fumble about whilst in VR to reach for the right control input when they transition from flight/driving to walking.Flatscreen players are not in a position where they are gonna lose their display method. I'm sure if it was announced Odyssey would be mobile only those who use giant flatscreens would be unhappy
Ha, different development branch, all those costly carriers, lost in time, like tears in rain.Current EDSM entry for that planet for the curious.

I wonder how old this footage is. That's the old speed indicator with flat lines not the new one with chevrons. Or maybe they're bringing the old one back (would be nice along with blue bookmarks, original docking menu w/clock, etc).
Motion controls. For everything.I understand the want to have VR for all the modes but I am genuinely interested to hear how VR players expect to control everything assuming Odyssey supported VR.
So kind of like how No Mans Sky does it in VR?Motion controls. For everything.
I play VTOL VR. I don't miss my CH flight stick.
There's a thread with 7k posts on it. We don't need a other. Cheers.
I’ve played using an Xbox 360 wireless pad since the first Beta, continued once I moved into VR three years ago. Having played SubnauticaVR and the Alien: Isolation VR mod using the pad, I’d expect to continue controlling the game the same as our console brethren do.I understand the want to have VR for all the modes but I am genuinely interested to hear how VR players expect to control everything assuming Odyssey supported VR.
Maybe that just highlights how important VR is in the game
Certainly important to me .... and I understand the VR community wanting to make this abundantly clear to FDev that VR is important.
We shall not go quietly into the night. We shall not vanish without a fight. We want VR to live on! We want VR to survive! We are fighting for our freedom to roam, united in our common interest. We are fighting for our right to VR, for a game like no other!
Kind of, but with better cockpit controls. So kind of like how No Mans Sky does it in VR?
I'd agree there have been too may VR posts on this thread, BUTRespectfully, as someone with VR who hopes for it's inclusion : please people, take the VR chat somewhere else.
David Braben hasn't been on an Elite dedicated stream for years and I think it's the best chance of getting a straight yes/no answer.Hopefully DBOBE will address it properly tonight and give a definitive answer on behalf of his company. That way every VR please post could be stopped in its tracks forever.
That shows how far back that footage is. When were the chevrons introduced?Current EDSM entry for that planet for the curious.
