Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Update 9 | Immediate Issues Of Note

Suggestion. (The same goes for fighter bays really) now we can have one of two, srv types, in the slots of stored srv bays, it would be cool if you could see what you have in each bay of any stored modules. As it stands you have to fit the module to find out? (unless I'm missing something). More QoL but it would be nice to be able to differentiate between stored modules, some with scarab, some scorpion, maybe that stored class 4 bay has one of each, this one is two scarabs ...

edit: actually I think it's a bit more than QoL. It could be essential.

But I didn't deny that with a single word! I only said that it has not happened to me and therefore the statement that it happens to everyone must be wrong. Whether it happens to everyone or many people makes a difference. Unless, of course, we are already thinking in terms of the issue tracker...



What nonsense. I just hate it when people try to tell me what's happening on my machine. Besides, it will hardly be conducive to the goal if people start voting for bugs they don't have themselves out of solidarity.

Same here, last night I reset my fire groups on my DBX - moved my carrier to an Admin system - flew to Shinrata and purchased a Scorpion, selling my scarab via outfitting, even tried swapping modules to see if I could get 2 SRVs but decided against in and swapped them back - flew to my FC and got rid of my Black Market (just eating money!). Swapped out a cargo hold on the DBX and flew to a planet surface - played with my Scorpion, tried to scan some Bacteria (known bug). Boarded scorpion then DBX - returned to Carrier and then real life got in the way and I had to log off. I had fun!
Just to clarify whilst I had fun I really do appreciate the issues suffered by other Cmdrs and hope they get resolved soon for their sake.

This coupled with info on any stored module that is ship specific (IE: Armor, possibly others)
 
Modifying firegroups can only be done once. After exiting the interface, firegroup selection/modification will no longer work. Needs relogin to be able to modify firegroup again.

I think it's been mentioned already but NPC winged pirates in Haz zones are not showing as red other than the target you are attacking.
 
Did this update introduce wings of 4 NPCs Pirates now ? Is the first time I encounter a wing of 4 Pirates in Solo mode...

I've updated the relevant issue on the issue tracker, and I'm getting reproducible crashes running on PS5. Selecting an installed hardpoint (cytoscrambler) immediately kills the game, no interaction with stored modules required. I'm going to try to see if it's the same using different ships/modules/stations/etc when I get some more time. If I can update the issue tracker with new information I will. Absolutely love this game and keeping my fingers crossed for a fix soon!
 
Has anyone else experienced an absolutely catastrophic drop in frame rate when landing at a settlement? (literally at the last minute as you're about to touch down on the pad). I've had this at every settlement I've been to (about 5 different ones) since update 9. The on-screen Ctrl+F framerate shows about 38fps but what I experience is easily less than 1fps. My headtracking stops working completely, the ship completely freezes at weird angles and the controls and UI become completely unresponsive. This situation lasts for at least a minute or more before finally clearing itself.
Can't say as I have experienced anything that dramatic, but since Update 8 I am getting micro freezes after a certain amount of time on the planet surface. Everything runs smoothly and then all of sudden, the game just starts dropping frames. Audio continues, just framerate crashes and inputs don't register. Usually only lasts for a few seconds, though, never a minute.

But while I'm in here, what's happened to the glare in the cockpits, now? I'm about 10K out on the Magellan Experience and my Chieftain looks like it has glitter on the windscreen. It's the awful, pixelly looking glare. Is that on the radar as an issue? Everything else seems to going smoothly, save having to reset all my fire groups.

People need to cut you some slack here, it's not like you have any doing in this. Things can and will go wrong always at the worst timing. Patience and understanding are needed in times like this. Just keep up the good work. There's nothing more you can do. O7

Massively appreciate you whilst absolutely also appreciating that many will remain frustrated and - that's ok - as long as you know I'm here to help o7 We all are.

I see someone doing a tough job under a lot of pressure and frequently saying they're sorry.

You're fielding complaints, making sure the devs hear about new problems and you're constructively listening to player concerns.

I have my share of frustrations with the state of the game, but you have nothing to be sorry about. You're taking heat for problems not of your own making. I've dealt with some of that in my own career and can appreciate how hard that can be.

You're doing a great job.

Hi, guys! My issues of this update are - can't scan bacterium, tussock, able to scan tubus (at the loc I'm currently), not to mention firegroups =)

UPD: SRV Scarab icon on radar doesn't scale, when I change radar scale (zoom out), it remains large.

Wings of 4 have been around for years. Not new with this patch. Game mode does not dictate enemy wing sizes.
I play for years, ( since 2018) but only on Solo, and I confess was the first time I noticed. I make my credits on bounty, so I meet thousands of wings... Can't recall to see a 4 one before.
