Elite Dangerous: Odyssey | Update 9 Notes

Confirming the issue with the biological scanner, tried multiple patches from various angles, standing, crouching, no dice. Bacterium Alcyoneum (Emerald) in this instance.

I'm rather disappointed. I'm still having the same old 20 FPS on concourses with stuttering sound. Considering that we're 9 updates into the odyssey release now, I guess this is how it will stay.
For the record: GTX1650, quite lame I know, but it's all I can/want to afford at this time.
If you're that unhappy about 20 fps, just be thankful you're not playing Driller on the Spectrum. Good times.

What are the requirements for buying a Scorpion? Where can you get one, for example? I've been to three different systems but still no sign.
As posted above you'll need to go to a military economy planetary outpost. I picked mine up at Deluc Arsenal in Oduduro for example.

Has anyone else lost on foot missions in update 9
I am in system lp 840-15 and am not being offered any on foot missions!!
EDIT.....OK now... I had only updated Odyssey, when I updated Horizons it cured problem ??????

I am pretty sure they have no clue whats causing the performance issues at this point. My bet
Spaghetti engine

Ok, to recap, what I see fly 4 jumps to Jameson:
1. Station undock fps drop still exists for me. I.e., well, I do'nt play as I used to for 3 months already because of it...because it is annoying to reload game after each undock.
2. New srv....is heavy. Single use scenario - combats. However, never had a need to use SRV in combats yet - so nothing here for me.
3. New limpets ...- heavy. Does not state clear in game what functions it does for fast pickup. Possibly will use for miner.
4. Lamps in current Krait Mk 2 change lighting when I do any rotation. It distrusts. It annoys. Why? My head keep exact same position to it. Looks like bug.

So ... lost desire to play again.

I lived the Update 9 dream, there happened to be a mission giver at a Settlement I was at, took a wipe-out faction type mission from them, headed to a nearby Military planet base to pick up a Scorpion. Landed at the settlement and opened fire on a Goliath, a few missiles took it down, the projectile weapon is less effective against shields. An Eagle then started to attack my landed ship so launched a few missiles at the Eagle to take it down that was fun. The gun is better at close range for on foot NPCs which feels more legitimate than the clinical distance take-down of the Scarab laser, maybe the Scarab laser should be made more jittery at distance. Got carried away with the Scorpion, attacking with shields down and someone took me out with a Rocket Launcher. Felt more balanced than Scarab attacks on Settlements.

My performance is pretty much back to Horizons standards

I'm seeing a huge performance uplift as well, but I'd be grossly exaggerating if I said it was back to Horizons standards.

My high-end current generation cards are now performing, in Odyssey, the way my four year old 1080 Ti performs in Horizons.

That's my bet too.

In other words, we've beaten that horse to death, it is what it is. Yes fine, but allow me to still give my humble feedback on the matter that bothers me most, and I'll leave it at that.

I feel like the New srv accuracy could be better it misses nearly everyshot on small targets unlike the other srv
No I like that, it means you have to be more tactical, getting in close, escaping oncoming fire etc. I felt the Scarab laser was far too powerful at ground combat for its role, the laser needs much more long range jitter, or a slow moving plasma for rock blasting would be more appropriate.
