Cytoscramblers? People unlocked these before but didn't keep any? They just tossed them away?
They did not necessarily toss them away. They may not have unlocked all of the modules, or they may not have stored enough of each module (module storage space is very limited). For example when the T8 was about to be released, I realized it was going to have 5 small hardpoints but I only had 3 enforcer cannons in storage. Luckily I had sufficient time to unlock the enforcers once again under the old system.

There might be plenty of reasons why people want to unlock these modules under PPV2. They might be new players, an old player who wiped their save, or just new alt accounts.

But that’s the thing … one player spends all their time during a week off and gets to L118, meanwhile, folks who only get to play 5 hours a week are looking at MONTHS of doing nothing but PP every session just to get the first module …

There has to be a middle ground. Separating Modules from the Merit Grind seems the only way (see my suggestions earlier in this thread) this can be made reasonable: anyone can unlock Modules given a little time, folks with lots of time can grind out the galactic influence game.
I'm not disagreeing with you at all. But to be clear, if they spent that 5 hours per week doing the trade loops I was doing in my Type 8 (or they can use a large ship, just need 320T or more) they would have gained 5 ranks after whatever rank it levels out to 8000 per rank. That's still awful, but not as bad as the nerfs have made it now.

Sure, if you can find a station that sells the crap you can sell elsewhere for the required profit, AND the station happens to have 8 hackable holograms AND it happens to offer donation missions as well. That sounds a bit too many IFs, I guess it takes a while to find such a place and then you'll still need time to do all the busywork within the same hour. :)
Well, sure. But we're talking about someone intentionally trying to improve their powerplay ranking.

I'm with Ian on this. In an earlier post in this thread you detailed your average week which was about 20h and called yourself "a BIT over average".

I think that playtime is far above average.

In my power, I'm barely in the top 10%, and regularly fall beneath it. I'm certainly nowhere near the top 10. To me, being in the top 25% feels like being a bit above average, especially once you account for any players who aren't intentionally participating significantly.

they had to reduce the merit income from slf due to the cause\effect of interrupting the rares merit: no way to counter the high merit yeld with slf without rares. now they give a little ammount of merit and you can counter it with other fortification activities. its ok in my opinion. it may can be for a closed time untill they fix the rares.
Escape pod exploit in anarchy system is viable, i see it as a part of the background simulation of the game, if some crazy tourist had to go in anarchy visitor beacon well...its anarchy. Otherwise you have to counter with police and notoriety.

Rares is really really easy to do and give the most insane count of merit out there, i feel nothing strange in a balancing.

EDIT: also, not all stronghold have the carrier, and not all tourist system with visitor beacon are in a strategic position in therms of powerplay. so...
meanwhile the rares can snipe every system for fortification, and also win the power conflict zone by simply delivering it to the system.

a little too much.
That's all very cool, but the point remains: your statement
they doesnt nerf nothing atm, they just suspended some kind of activities
was simply not true.

Or they may want to clear their module storage since, under the new system, they can obtain the modules whenever they want. I've already purged my storage of all my non-engineered packhounds and prismatic shields.

Certainly. But the vast majority of players had ample time and ability to get these modules before hand. They either had no desire for them, or didn't care. We all knew PP was getting overhauled. And we all knew that new ships were being released. A small minority of players are new to this 10 yo game and didn't have that opportunity. But they are likely working on unlocking engineers and imperial cutter right now. Which gives far greater advantage.

i was assuming nerfing isnt a thing untill official update from fdev, they in fact suspended the slf merit by nerfing the incoming.

im joking, my fault to not being more esplicative, hope my second post can be helpfull to "accept" the fdev actions

The rares were already a huge grind after the first nerf. Nerfing them again makes hauling rares pointless.
Wait... what first nerf? Did they grant more merits in that limited beta a lot of streamers were doing? As far as I know, this is the first nerf (rares disabled). Or have they now been re-enabled, but at a much lower rate?

IMO rares should always be secondary and mostly just be good if no natural states are present. We certainly shouldn't be encouraging rares trading over actually analyzing the markets and coming up with your own trade routes!

Was it some kind of a natural law that it could only get overhauled for the worse in this regard?

They are players, too. And so are my alt accounts.

Those Cutters will perish pretty quickly without prismos, but it's okay I guess. :)

I've played for 3 years. I didn't bother unlocking all the Powerplay modules; more fool me I guess. I've used up all the Prismatics I had stored, and the Pacifiers, never even used the Hammers and I'm running out of space. I don't move modules around from ship to ship, I build more ships for individual tasks and obtain more modules for those ships as needed; it's far more efficient IMO and I enjoy doing the purchase, engineering then testing/playing game mechanic.

Of course their are players playing Powerplay 2.0 for more than just the modules. That is exactly the way it should be. They should enjoy playing it and they should get rewarded for it.

I'm not one of them. I was playing purely to unlock the modules, nothing else. Once I had a rank high enough for the modules I wanted, I doubt I'd ever click on the Powerplay buttons on the maps ever again. I'd be surprised if I'm alone in that.

Since no one else has chimed in, people have said that quantity limits for rares at stations were reduced after PP 2.0 started. I'm not personally certain this was a nerf. I have a vague memory that those were already set up to restrict purchase quantities in times of high demand to ensure availability. But I also haven't closely followed 2.0 updates until I gave in and pledged last week. And I'm old enough that I inadvertently invent vague memories all the time.
