Elite Dangerous PS4 Feature Requests and PS4 FAQ

Unfortunatly, Mobius has reached it max of 20,000 subscribers. SO, either they have to increase it or someone, has to start another simular. Consudering the work admining and moderating it takes, I doublt that Mobius will get much larger. <snip>

This is not quite 100% accurate, the original Mobius group is currently full, but there is also MOBIUS PVE and MOBIUS ASIAPACIFIC for PC, as well as two groups for X-Box, and the PS4 group will be another group.

I don't currently have ps+ but I'm considering getting for ED and if I do I'll be looking to join a private group. Mobius seems like a good option. How do you go about joining it?

The number one pet peave that drives noobs away is the constant attacks by pirates, griefers and interDICKters. IF, there is so many more systemsto be involved in which would be void of all those that cause the havok, why stay or hang around the ones where they are subject to the constant havok?

Bill,i may have a solution.Play PVE and use it to get AWAY from the Popular systems and then once youre sufficiently far away from "" restart in Open, you continue where you left off in PVE.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is pve? Thanks for that info, I imagine there will be more groups in the fulture.

I am new to this forum stuff and don't know how yet to insert links nor photos. I just googled "Mobius".

So, one can go back and forth between solo and open and not loose anything, cool! Proof positive, if given enough time, old dogs can learn new tricks. Though we may not have enough time to learn all of them, ED is quite extensive, there is a lot to learn. Took me a couple of weeks just to learn how to turn my ps4 on and off properly. It's bern two years and I'm still working on my typing on a tablet. Big fingers, small touch key board and one eye doesn't make it easier. LOL

pve = player vs environment or user vs cpu. The opposite is pvp = player vs player or user vs user. Open world enables pvp. Single player or private groups = pve.

Head over to https://elitepve.com/, keep an eye on the https://elitepve.com/page/join page, as soon as the PS4 group is running joining instructions will be posted there.

In the mean time feel free to browse around and say hi.

There is also a "Mobius Elite Dangerous PvE" community on the PS4

I assumed correctly on the pvp, but the "e" in pve had me at a loss. Thanks!

Am I correct in assuming that the three platforms have there own separate galaxies? Thus the ps4 Mobius will be empty and need players upon launch of ED.

That is correct, there is no cross-platform play at the moment (although FD have said it is something they would like in the future).

But don't worry, it didn't take long for there to be hundreds of players in the Xbox groups when they first launched and we get more people joining every day.

And don't forget, even though people can't play together on different platforms, everyone has the same effect as each other on the background simulation, so the effects of your actions on the PS4 (say for example helping a Faction take over a system) will be seen by both PC players and the Xbox players.

The three platforms share a galaxy, but cannot share the same instance. Basically, Xbox players can only see Xbox players, PS4 players will only be able to see PS4, etc. But each of these will affect the same galaxy so Xbox players CGs will have an impact on PS4 CGs, etc. Does that make sense?

Yes it does make sense, kind of like real life. What Trump or Putin or ??? does or doesn't do in their respected countries can have an effect on the others. The butter fly effect.

Bill, its not really like that at all.

If you do anything to affect the BGS (Back Ground Simulation) with respect to factions, system control, discoveries, CGs etc etc. They are reflected across both PC and Xbox (and soon PS4). It is ONE galaxy, just the three cannot interact directly. So all three platforms will be able to influence the BGS.

i.e faction x loses control of system y to faction z. That will be reflected for both PC and Xbox players. No butterfly effect, actual effect. :)

Hope that helps.

Thanks, I'll do it. Do the ps+ cards ever go on sale? I've never had one.

I buy them from Amazon.com, all the denominations are a penny cheaper than their totals. Last I heard is the annual membership went from 50 to 60 dollars. For the price and the perks (24 hours a day, reduced prices, free games). I joined at the time just for the reduced prices and free games. Until I download ED, I've no use for on line playing.

Interesting, thanks.

Yes,you are correct.

Yet another question while I wait patiently for the ps4 release. If I purchase an item for a particular ship - frame shift drive, shields, weapons etc if I later purchase a new ship of a different type can I move those components to the new ship or are they only fitted for one type of ship?

I believe - while this has been requested (module storage) it hasn't been implemented. So you need to mod every module on every ship.

Would be a darn good idea and its worth keeping sticking it on the suggestions thread.

if i am wrong i would gladly be corrected!!!
