I'd just like to take a moment to thank Sally for being Sally. Nobody deserves to be treated the way she and the dev team have been in some of the comments in this thread. Unacceptable!

On one hand, you right. On the other hand, nobody likes a kiss-a$5. 😜

Just a message to share our apologies for any issues you've been having this morning with the stability of all Elite Dangerous servers across all versions.

The issue behind the drops has been resolved, with serves now gently coming back online - however

[UPDATE 11:45 UTC - THE SERVERS ARE STRUGGLING ONCE AGAIN. MANY OF YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO LOG IN, WILL SUFFER CONSISTENT DISCONNECTS AND MORE. The team are investigating]

you may experience some slight lag as they do so, with some further issues with Fleet Carrier jumps related to server connections also, amidst other areas of the game:
  • Example issue: You may see Jump Orders failing.
  • Example issue: Mission servers failing.
  • Example issue: Unable to utilize Cartographics.
  • Example issue: Unable to log in to either Odyssey or Horizons in general.
Also do be aware there may be many a 'SNAKE ERROR' nipping at your heels too. These, again as a consequence of our current server issues.

Apologies also for the slight lack of further in depth information for you on this! I'm letting Dav and the team get stuck in with ironing out the creases here and wanted to get the initial short form response set out to you all to ease any concerns in the mean time.

Probably doing us all a favour. I find myself either looking at the interior wall of a Carrier or Station or drifting around Supercruise like a sad sack waiting for something to happen in Elite... 🙄😂
 
Developers, when will you start working without bugs! Your failure has already begun to infuriate! I just want to play and enjoy the game, and all I get is a nervous breakdown. Do you check players for how loyal they are to you? but you've checked it enough already. Now start working. I'm already afraid of your updates. The new update came out and broke everything... and so every update. and then players wait at least a week for you to fix it.
Do you test your updates at all? Or do you implement them and test them for us? then I can't understand why I'm not getting paid for this?
Then let's all write to the developers what is not broken yet and works at least somehow, let them break it in the next "grand" update, we will remove the game with peace of mind and go about our business.

Why does the launcher say "Server status: Ok" if the server status is very much not ok? Is it just a .png file set to always say the server is ok?
Go to control panel, internet options.
Select the Security tab and scroll down to Scripting, set Active Scripting to Disable.

Close & re-open the launcher and it will not longer tell you the server status is ok.


On a more serious note, it may be storm damage to the physical infrastructure is creating bottlenecks. Not much FDev can do about that.
 
Hi Sally! I was farming some HGEs to fully engineer my 45th ship, just wondering if there are any plans on making the farm just a tiny bit less tedious in the future?, might I recommend selling the materials in bulk for an absurd amount of ¢redits, you know, the usual 50 stack of Core Dynamic Composites for 100 mil or something lol. If not that's fine, I'm standing by to resume the farm as normal. Also nearly had a panic attac, my character in menu was displaying a new one without anything and only the tutorial to start with, reset the game, character is back.

They are looking at rebalancing the engineer grind currently but I think a server problem thread isnt the right place for this.
 
I ain't falling for this stuff again, last time I was told to clear the cash and refresh.. 25 pints and an empty bank account later I couldn't remember what the problems was....
 
I represent. I am a developer myself. And I make programs for highly loaded systems in C and C ++.
And if I made bugs like these, I would have been fired a long time ago.
Surely your programs (without detracting from them) are as complex as ED. Surely your programs are as complex as an MMO. Surely in your programs dozens of programmers touching the code at the same time in different areas.

Please, nobody wants bugs or server crashes, and Frontier is sure to be the first to not want them. Let's stop with meaningless nonsense and try to contribute, if we really love it so much and we are interested in the good state of this game.
