News Elite: Dangerous Steam Keys

Ok, I apologize for the the tone I've been serving Steam, which some people might actually like, as hard as it is to imagine for me.

But I would like to honestly know, if there is actually some practical advantage of introducing the game into Steam library?

No, there is absolutely none. I am not certain why Jukelo is responding as he/she did. Seriously don't worry about it. I use steam for plenty of things, but this game I'll keep to Frontier's own store.

I'm sorry guys, i went through 10 pages and really tried to find this thing mentioned; If i make a Steam key will the ED stand alone launcher still work? Also, will my existing ED installation move / reinstall in the designated Steam games folder? I guess that last question is a yes.

Yes it will

Just looking for some clarification of this.
I've got the ED client, and I've activated the Steam key. But when I click install from Steam, I'm assuming that's a fresh installation that will be put on my PC, and it won't just point to my current installation?

Horizons is reduced just now on Steam, but not the Frontier store, so I'd like to make use of the deal if possible.

Steam will do it's own thing, and install everything in it's folder. However, you can still launch a game from FD's own launcher and Steam won't see it.
