please let me know which ones
Ask them. Perhaps you get an answer.
You could ask, why there are systems block by permits, which you can not get. I guess you would get the same answer.

They need to keep a measure of control over the galaxy and we want them to. Without control, how should they implement new threats and opportunities?

If a fundamental problem was uncovered during the first week and there has been a lot of speculation that an exploit exists, then FDev should take as long as they need to fix things and get it right. We have to be patient.

However, while understanding that they can't always give a firm date for unplanned things like this, it would be good if they could please give us a rough idea of how long they think colony claims will be down for such as whether the delay is measured in days, weeks or months so that we can plan our own time and strategies around it.

Agreed. We just need to know SOMETHING.

While I fully understand that it´s better to pause a new feature and fix the issues that have been detected in the meanwhile, regular updates would really be nice. There is a huge amount of motivated pilots waiting to colonize this universe. It would be so easy to keep them up to date and stay motivated. Not communicating regularly is a real bummer.
If you need another month, it´s fine. Just talk with us. Communication & Transparency is key.

And on a side note: while I am very happy about the colonization feature, the UX would benefit so much from more in-game information, be it about the impact of buildings, be it on items required, ... and after building my first 4 stations, hauling really gets boring, let us throw ingame money at this and hire NPCs or some other exciting ways to tackle this.

Haha well I busted my butt from Colonia 68 jumps at a time to try colonisation and missed it by a hairs breadth! Probably a FDEV inspired moral there. Still given that there are literally billions of systems to get round to I think I can afford to be chill about it. Like others here, a bit of an update from the powers that be wouldn't go amiss however to keep everyone happy.

Please do not add any new features until colonisation has been reopened for everyone. It would also be nice if the carriers had jump times of 20 minutes again.

Hmmm -- Colonisation being still on lockdown for over a week now and FD not finding a deployable resolution in a live game is, sorry to say, pretty disappointing really.
I (and others) avoided the initial system claiming in lieu of working hard instead on the delivery CG right up to the end of the CG extension-time (to enable the deployment of as many Mega ships as possible for colonisation for the use of us all). I was one of the top 10.
Seems that decision to do CG instead of jumping on the claim bandwagon has backfired on some of us and has now led to a divergence in the game; those that had already staked a claim pre-lockdown are free to continue to deliver resources and build up their claimed systems at leisure, and there's those of us that can't even set off the starting block with a system(s) claim of our own.

As a hardcore ED player, newly retired, with dedicated ED hardware and plenty of game time on my hands it's kinda frustrating as I just want to crack-on. Also, any actual progress information from FD relating the this colonisation freeze is not evident in any meaningful way.
I'm sure they are working hard on this but....... ("and so matters remain")

You are more then welcome to join my squad [BPCL] which is part of Explorers on Tour (a German Group, but loads of english speakers as well) and as soon as claiming is possible again you are quite welcome to chain off our daisy-chain if you find an interesting System for yourself :)

@Paul_Crowther Good Morning and o7 Is there any information that you can share about the pause, thought I would give it one more go. (I'm aiming This at you because your the only Cm that I can recall) This is just so there is something out there that Cmdr's can refer to. As your obviously aware there have been multiple requests to share any info on the pause, not just on this thread or form of social media and not just it's potential time-scale. Obviously your also aware that since this thread was started there has not been a single update or post from Fdev on the matter. Without trying to point out the obvious it must be apparent that there are possibly a lot of people who are very frustrated with the continued silence on this matter. I do think that if something was given out even if it wasn't the most positive for example we will update on Frontier Unlocked, that for the most part there would be an understanding response, come on just throw us a bone. Again Obviously this is a busy time for all at Fdev and I hope it goes well but for myself there doesn't appear to be any point to commenting anymore on these forums regarding said pause as there is no communication forthcoming. I recently came back to Elite after a not too long pause and found the Forums to be positive and enjoyed the prior updates to Elite. The continuing silence following the Grand Pause has some what tainted it for me now to the point will there be any point taking part when it does eventually re-open will any of the comments on the feedback thread have been enacted....who knows. There are going to be a few positives though they'll be three very interesting systems up for grabs, won't tell you exactly where they are but there in the Synuefe chain of systems around Imperial Space. A second positive is they're won't be any walls if text from me, I have been repeatedly told it's one of my more evident flaws among many lol
To anyone who may still be reading this, gees ain't you got anything better to do....o7 and out.....
