Community Event / Creation Elite Dangerous: This Space Beta

Hey there!

Here's my small contribution to the library of Elite fan creations.
Now re-cut for clearer narration and further improved musical sync after some feedback.

Re-cut version, old URL removed.

A somewhat humorous take on the game and beta versions in general, intended in the best of lights. It's wonderful that after nearly 20 years since the last, I'm getting to see a sequel to one of my favorite series of all time. The videos dedicated to all you alpha and beta testers out there.

Glad the spirit of space-sims lives on.

Getting the pacing and music sync right on this project was a particular challenge! Lots of editing went into it, especially when playing with the intermixing of the scenes.

Curious to hear what people might think of it. Both positive and negative feedback is appreciated. Video editing is something I'm still learning.

I enjoyed that, and it is funny. I assume there was no implied relationship between the various commanders. If there was, I didn't catch it.

Makes me hope that we can use our own music in the game. If we're all going full nostalgia with this, we might as well play it with 80s music! :)

Thanks Retrograde, glad you enjoyed it!

There's no direct relationship between the two commanders, aside from the fact that they're (trying) to make the same trade-run. Though I did feel tempted to figure out a way of editing in the other ship zooming past. Alas it wouldn't probably fit the idea of a timewarp though.

Having your own music could be a neat feature, sure. Especially if you'd be able to tag songs combat music, etc and the music would adapt to the situation. I'm curious what the kind of playlists people would have, how about you? :)

After a bit of feedback and some thinking I've re-cut the video for clearer story telling and further improved music sync. I feel it gets the idea across better now.
