Elite Dangerous | Trailblazers Update 2 - Wednesday March 19

Looks like "why don't you just find an orbital refinery and buy your Insulating Membrane there instead of the megaship" is the new "why don't you stop relying on Inara and actually play the trading game"

I ended up finding some Medical Diagnostic Equipment at a neighbouring player's shiny new Scientific Outpost so that was pretty cool.
yep - them scientific outposts have a decent market

Finished civilian outpost ( already built plenty of stuff). Nothing happened. The station and slot is missing. When I dock at the construction ship the game crashes and I get krait error.

VERY NICE PATCH FRONTIER THANKS
I am getting the exact same problem

The systems hosting Trailblazer Megaships have become so saturated with Fleet Carriers that it's nearly impossible to find the Megaship on the left panel/navigation tab. I gave up on the Trailblazer Dream after an infuriating hour trying to locate it among the Fleet Carriers. It's way too much frustration, we really need a special marker for these to easily ID them among the mess of FC's, and being able to see it in the system map wouldn't hurt either.
Just visited one and it was easy to find on the navigation tab however my default filter setting is to not show FCs as generally speaking I am only interested in mine which is bookmarked so findable fast enough by other means.

But you are right there were untold numbers of other peoples FCs in the system when I arrived in my Cutter so glad I don't like jumping my FC around pretending it is a cargo ship.

Meanwhile, Trailblazer Star in 34 Omicron Cephei (closest to Titan Oya) is already at risk of running below 10k supply of Insulating Membrane (seriously, are people stuffing 20k tons of it into their carriers? you don't even need that much of it ...) and a dent of about 140k tons has been made into its steel supply stockpile - now that one is understandable.

We're gonna have to work INARA and pick up 10-30 from a couple different stations or stronghold carriers. That got me through my main orbital. Haven't built another since. And probably have to find a couple Refinery surface ports near you. I very much wish I thought about where I was gonna find materials before I picked my system but Antliae Construction Co. pushes on

I happened to have a couple nearby which to use as a source for my colony project (which currently is still in the "chaining to location" stage), so never been an issue to find some supply of both steel and titanium with which to build outposts.

I will probably go back to my "pick up T8 and find outpost in a suitable system" for the membranes if they run out before I get to my next outpost. Which, at this rate, it looks like it will have been hogged dry by the carrier campers (no offense intended... maybe) before then. Least I will be able to get the other stuff though.

Yeah, steel is getting hammered on.

Try the Trailblazer Dream at HIP 90578 with 159 FCs 😉

I don't really get it, using a carrier almost feels like more work. The time comes from decelerating out of super cruise and docking, not jumping systems. Stocking a carrier just to move it and unload it doubles the times dropping out and docking

This expansion has become a mockery of it's intent. Wealthy players using 3 alts with a carrier, parking in systems to strip them of resources to go and claim 9 systems in a row, developing none. Calling this colonizing is like stripping a speaker wire and calling yourself an electrician. This should have had a 1 claim per server tick limit. Still exploitable but allows ACTUAL colonizers to get good systems and develop them so mega ships would have not been needed. Now the expansion is just a bunch of fire hydrants to see how far out you can urinate. Like what is the purpose? You an already go there and commodities were only useful for trading and you can mine anywhere already. My hope is Thargoids come in and raze every single system more than 200 LY outside the bubble. The notion that Colonia gets to colonize but Robigo can't is absurd.

Insulating Membrane at Star is officially "dead" until the rush calms down a little.

This should have had a 1 claim per server tick limit.
That would not change the fact of the resource consumption - only spread it out amidst those other systems as they're being built up - or that people want to daisy chain to locations they find interesting. And by server tick limit do you mean per week or each day?
