I love the game and suggest to release offline Horizons version. Seems like it is end-of-life of this chapter and it will no longer being developed because of Odyssey and it's ok. I would like to see offline version of Horizons. I am sure that many fans will happily PURCHASE this version. You could make extra money and fans will be happy to have local game with no internet connection requirement.

If modding of the local game (scenarios, ships, enviroment) will be allowed, I am sure that community will highly appreciate this and get more involved like in No Man's Sky or Oolite.

I think it is not that difficult for developers to adjust game. Just make one-way sync upon request for those who wants see actual star map with all that "first discovered by..". And allow local savegame. That's it.

Again, Horizons finished. Developers could make some money and community will get what we has been asking for years.

What do you think? Maybe we should start petition?

No problem. How to address developers our idea if many of users wants to? I know that a lot of people wants offline version and I guess its right time to release it. Also it could add points to Frontier. So its win-win situation I think.

Also, I understand that to make such descision developers must calculate profit. So we have money to pay, they has potential to release offline version. How to get to deal?

An offline mode was added to the Kickstarter pitch about halfway through, in addition to the existing three game modes, but was sadly cancelled a few weeks before the game launched.

Brilliant idea, unfortunately the offline modded version would soon surpass the official online version with new planet types, atmospheres, water worlds, gas giants, flight models, ships, missions etc in a few years that only the extremely loyal few would bother staying with the online version.
No more ARX!
Oh but to dream...

Well... As for marketing Horizons is an relatively old game and I am sure that it won't infiuence sales of Odyssey. Most people still run for new releases. Offline version is for veterans mostly. I think.

It'd likely be a better game experience but fundamentally in opposition to FD's monetisation, so it's really unlikely to ever happen.
Why not? I definetly won't buy Odyssey and I feel that many others also but I am ready to pay for offline Horizons.

I got my Elite in exploration in Horizons and Deadly in combat. Got most of engeneering and definety don't want all these walking-shooting stuff. Spent some time grinding. It's enough.

For me Elite now is relaxing space-trip-planet-landing-a-little-pirate shooting for joy. Just want a little adustments and local savings. Better someting from me than nothing hah? Of course if it will take a little for dev's to make it local. I don't know server-side architecture but I think it shouldn't be too tough today.

Yes I know that. How to attract dev's attention to tihs again?
Buy fdev shares and reverse the games as a service model vote...

Games run by modders will not make Fdev share holders much money.
As an offline, only games would then be allowed to have player created mods..
Then the Offline focused modes would return...

Horizons would have been multi DLC Charges for each part to download of the season then, instead of a single charge in one pass, as offline titles dont require patches for content youll never see, you wont have had access to them in the game if you never purchased it as the data wont be down loaded...

Seeing other players with the DLC in online mode means the clients need that data downloaded even if you never play the DLC...

Why do people keep thinking the base game is going to go away? It's still there, will be for as long as the game runs. Now, you might have to upgrade your computer sometime, if they don't fix the performance problems.

OLD EDH is allready gone... You are playing EDO compatibility update... when ever you hit any button thats not labeled EDO on the PC launcher...
The right pannel continues to change to more to EDO compliance...

Again... Horizons is outdated product and dev's could give a rebirth. It wont compete with Odyssey - no PvP, no community missions etc. Frontier could make some money on it instead of no money at all. Of course it depends on how much will it take to make it offline.

Odyssey is an expansion to Horizons (as the new base game, since it was given free to all players who had not bought the Horizons expansion some time ago), not a replacement - which I am sure you realise.
Possibly in the near future Horizons on the PC would adopt the V4 client, leaving only the console versions of Horizons existing as it does today.

So, very unlikely that Frontier would accede to your request, solely as Horizons os the base on which expansion(s) might be made. Although, I suppose if a further paid expansion appears in another 4 years that Odyssey would then be considered the base game, and you might make the same request for Horizons then.
