Fiction Elite: Legacy

Just letting you know I'm loving Sun Dragon. A real treat to go on a real, plausible journey and then throw in awesome sci-fi. Half way through (I only read weekends and am a SLOW reader)

Thanks - I'm pleased you're enjoying it.

Michael

And I am pleased that you are pleased. I also want to thank you for what you did, I'm pretty sure it was you. Could be wrong but thanks if so. That little thing has meant a LOT to me, in a small or potentially big way changed my life.

If you don't know what I'm talking about ignore

Great book, Michael!

One question: there are things that are not seen in game (yet) described in the book.......will they happen or are they artistic license (or ideas that were to be in game at the time of writing)? I did have a bad case of giggles when early on there was a mention of 'power play' and thought of next Tuesday.

What pains me a little is jumping to the Artemis system and finding nothing of what is mentioned in the book. Is there any hope that in the next future (a year or two) the system gets rectified/aligned with the book's description?

Sorry for the bother. :p

It's a mixture of both.

He said that the factions are different because players came and switched them around (and he is very proud of that!), and Freeholm is an outpost because there aren't any asteroid bases implemented in game.

What do you mean?

Michael

Let's put it this way, it's all OK really :) No big deal- I just realized that Freeholm is not in an Asteroid, immersed in an asteroid field.

Factions changes are ok, understandable and desirable!

My only question is if there was a time frame and the will for changing the actual generic outpost to a proper rendition of Artemis as in the book.

Peace. :)

I'd love to see the asteroid base added - but there are many other things to do first!

Hey Michael, thanks for that statement, I was wondering the same about Freeholm.
I take it that this means the asteroid base is still "on the list", even though with quite a low priority and we shouldn't expect to see it anytime soon. At least it sounds as if you guys haven't abandoned the idea of asteroid bases altogether and there is still hope, is that right?

I look forward to things from that list making it gradually into the game. I lost confidence because of a personal attachment to some features that were missing on release but I am like that sometimes. Reading good fiction like Elite: Legacy inspires me again.
I am looking forward to the ability to die making it into the game. Death and danger certainly make for an interesting narrative in the book that is missing for me in my personal game experience, and not only me judging from all the "I'm bored" posts, Although most do not associate boredom with enforced immortality. I cannot include death into my story at all as the only way is to wipe my save in an out-of-game menu - can't even die by flying into a black hole, not that I have tried... ;) It is funny to read all the "OMG I died" posts though - if only everyone in real life were so dramatic every time they had to make an insurance claim!
Anyway - off topic but Elite: Legacy - Inspiring to my life as a commander and fleshes out my imagination of the game world - Thanks :)

Just started reading this. Looking promising so far.
The 'curt and crisp' way of writing needs a bit to get accustomed though. :)

Found a couple of nasty typos in the paperback version that came with/in the Kickstarter Premium Boxed Set.
Don't know if they're already corrected in the downloadable versions.
