Although I fear asking this, what point am I demonstrating, and how? I was being entirely frank with my original question, I would love to hear about threads with no trolls and the majority of posts being unrelated to complaints.

There was no sarcasm meant in that. When I said "Please regale me with tales of those times," I was asking for example comparisons. When I said "oh great curried one," I was referring to your profile picture, which is clearly from Red Dwarf. I love that show.
Perhaps I've become so jaded with the decline in these forums recently that I've begun to see aggravation where there really is none.
I can understand that, and in retrospect, I really ought to have worded what I said better. I thought I was being clever and it came across instead as sarcastic.
Anyways, any more memes? I was thinking a BLB involving 50+ objects with almost entirely asteroid clusters and icy moons/planets.
An easy enough mistake, even without the context. Forums are notorious for misunderstandings like that due to lack of verbal or facial cues (though emoticons can help)
As for the path of the forums, I'd like to think that those currently creating that atmosphere won't play the game much longer, moving on to greener pastures
