no, elite installs by default in the windows' appdata folder (which is a subdirectory of the user folder). Meaning he put his appdata folder on his ssd. Which is a tremendous waste of ssd space.

There was no sarcasm meant in that. When I said "Please regale me with tales of those times," I was asking for example comparisons. When I said "oh great curried one," I was referring to your profile picture, which is clearly from Red Dwarf. I love that show.
