Elite Observatory - Search your journal for potentially interesting objects, or notify you of new ones on the fly while exploring!

yes, there is the date of today

The exact text is "requesting journal for:2020-04-14"
Still might be authentication problems. What version of Windows are you using? I might need to double check the way that Observatory waits for the response from the Frontier authentication service after you log in.

Does it do the same thing if you close it and try again?

edit: Also, after you authenticate, does your browser display the message "Frontier authorization complete. You may close this window and return to Elite Observatory."?

Alright, I'm a bit stymied here. I'm going to add an option for extra logging to the cAPI process and release a new build. Hopefully will be done later this evening once I'm finished my "real" job for the day. Expect to see it 10 to 12 hours from now.

Absolutely no problem, it is not urgent! Take your time!

Thank you for the support.

Okay, here we go: https://github.com/Xjph/EliteObservatory/releases/tag/v0.5.20.106

Very minor release, only change is cAPI logging and the version number. To create a log hold shift when you click the "Retrieve Logs" button. It will be placed in the same folder that you chose as the journal location. Send me a copy of whatever shows up in there.

Thank you. What I got from the log is:

Current Frontier authentication token (partial): eyJhbGci...Rfxci_FA

Thank you. What I got from the log is:
Hmm. Can you open the config file in %localappdata%\Observatory\{install location hash}\{version} and remove the value in there for FrontierToken? This should reset the cAPI to a "blank slate".

In the meantime I'll have to improve the handling for error responses from the API endpoint.

ok done. I've performed the authentication. This time, however, instead of using the Frontier login form I clicked directly in the PS4 login button (note, however, that my frontier account is linked to PS4 account, I have ED only for PS4).

He asked me again to approve the app.

Now I see that the folder is full of logs and it is downloading journals for different days of March and February.

Do you need any other info?

Thank you for the assistance

Ok, it finished retrieving the journals!

I've clicked the "Read all logs". Some entries in the "Details" column have the "X criteria Satisfied" (where X is a number) and in the "Description" it says "Multiple criteria met". How can I know which are those criteria? Where I can get those details?

Thank you!

Ok, so I'm handling an invalid token incorrectly, obviously! Or this is some other case of invalid token that returns a different error. Either way, something to fix in the next release.

As for multiple criteria, that entry will immediately follow the criteria it's referencing. If you see "2 criteria satisfied" then there will also be two other criteria listed for the same body in the list.

Yes, now I've seen. I see I can copy the json data and display it via any online viewer.

Ok, I would say that now it works!

Thank you for the assistance!

Oh, also, since Observatory creates a local log folder on your machine, it should actually be possible for you to use other tools like EDDiscovery if you point it to that folder in the commander settings. Just in case that was something you were interested in.

@Vithigar, could you get a version without automatic updates?
I think that is the problem with Bitdefender.

old versions with manual update did not have this problem.

from this version it has no longer been possible to start the application (for me)

What do you mean by "this version"? The update check was added in version 0.3.19.271, which was seven months ago, and has been unchanged since then.

Exactly, it's like you say,
Versions that were downloaded and that I have used without problems, now Bitdefender sends them to quarantine.
if I try to download them again it intercepts them directly.

I have tried them and the first one that does not consider Bitdefender ant it is the one with the Update link,

this version I can download and run it

it's maddening  , it bothers me because I love this tool .
If I can find out the reason, or find a solution, I communicate it in the thread

Interesting. If 4.19.315 works and 0.4.20.018 doesn't then the problem is likely one (or both) of the IGAU submission or Telegram integration.

Can you not un-quarantine or whitelist with bitdefender?
