Hi! First of all, thank you very much for this magnificent app. Unfortunately I am having a problem from the past version of Core. When I downloaded it, it worked perfect until one day it stopped. I tried the portable version and also the installer but with no luck. It happens that the program opens and stays on the taskbar but I can't see the UI. I don't know if I have uninstalled something in windows and I didn't realize or what happened, but I can't get it to work. Tried the Observatory above and it still works without much of a problem. Any ideas that can help?
PS: I apologize in advance, English is not my first language.

Sounds like it has erroneously saved its last position as off-screen. If so I've got three possible solutions.
  1. With the application active (the icon will be highlighted in your taskbar) pushing Windows Key + Left or Right arrow might snap it onto your screen.
  2. With the application active pushing Ctrl+Spacebar then selecting "Move" from the menu that pops up might allow you to reposition it with the arrow keys or mouse.
  3. Failing both of the above, deleting the contents of %localappdata%\ObservatoryCore will reset the application settings back to default.
If none of those work, let me know and I can investigate further.

The third option worked. Many thanks! :D

Slight issue with the latest build --- I suspect the logic to prevent body name oddness has somehow been tied to a particular voice variant, leading to this kinda amusing thing... maybe my scientist is just very gender fluid... not judging...
PS. Remember to add an automatic "Start Monitoring" for us forgetful souls please :)

This^^!
And "Clear after each jump" option, pretty please. :)

One of the plugins allows you to set the display to "current system only." Having this option for all the plugins would be useful rather than a clear all, because sometimes I want to see multiples and sometimes I don't, depends on the plugin. I prefer Explorer to show multiple systems for instance, but bio-insights to show the current only.

Pretty sure ObsCore itself could not display "current system only" in plugins - it has no idea what they've decided to show or not show, so this would be down to individual plugins to handle. That said, it is on my list of things to add to each of mine - as you say, BioInsights is definitely more useful (to me) when only showing current system. Would also be helpful if (when) ObsCore scrolls to bottom when changing window cough

(in fact, I'll open an issue for that so it doesn't get forgotten :) )

What, you don't like having a full crew working together? :D

Will hopefully be resolved in a bugfix this weekend.

edit: Took a quick look at the notification code and the problem is non-obvious, though I do have some suspicions. Which voice is your selected one?

Tried the latest version together with MattGs plugins yesterday and like them a lot, great work!
A minor thing maybe somewhat related to the request to only list the infos related to the current system - I was thinking of an option for a reverse order on the listing of items, such that the latest entries are always on top and we don't have to scroll to the end. Not sure whether that could be solved as a core option or to be handled in each plugin separately...

Making the list re-sortable is something that will be added at some point. Hopefully soon!

"Microsoft Hazel" is selected as my go-to most human sounding voice

Telegram!

The largest change in this release is the inclusion of @mgraham-dev's (@MattG) ObservatoryTelegram plugin with both the application installer and standalone version. While I don't know how many people used that functionality in the original Elite Observatory I do know that those who did use it liked it a lot, so enjoy! This also brings ObservatoryCore one step closer to feature parity.

For instructions on using the Telegram plugin please refer to the ObservatoryTelegram readme.

This update also includes some under-the-hood changes for plugins, some tweaks to how popup notifications are displayed, fixes for a couple of bugs in the previous release, and last but not least adds a built-in version check and update notification.
  • ObservatoryTelegram plugin now included
  • Explorer bugfix for barycentres reporting as small objects now included
  • Fix issue where settings file would be constantly re-written during journal monitoring
  • Added update check and notification
  • CancelNotification and UpdateNotification methods offered by Core's IObservatoryCore interface now actually do something
  • Voice notifications using SSML should no longer use a voice other than the one selected (unless explicitly specified by the plugin sending the notification)
  • Voice test button now uses SSML to catch possible errors in SSML handling
  • Fix possible error if file location settings are left completely blank
  • Multiple popup notifications in quick succession will now stack vertically rather than piling on top of one another
  • Added internal documentation tooltips for PluginUI object
  • Buttons can now be used within the plugin settings panel by exposing a get-only Action property
  • IObservatoryCore interface now provides an HttpClient object to maintain a single client for the entire application

A minor bug: Telegram plugin gets installed even if unticked during installation process.

Anyway, thanks for the update. I can't imagine exploring without this app now!
