Elite Series 2 controller setup for PC version

G'day all!

I was lucky enough to make the move over from Xbox to PC before Frontier temporarily disabled profile transfers and was looking forward to playing Elite Dangerous again, especially with update 14. However, I'm having a few issues with how my controller is setup for use on PC, after having copied the same setup from the Xbox version. For example. Pressing and holding B + D-pad down to extend or retract my landing gear causes me to boost. Pressing and holding A + D-pad Left or Right (System Map and Galactic Map) causes my current fire group to switch to the next fire group. Pressing and holding X + Any direction on the D-pad causes my hardpoints to deploy, but also looks at whichever screen corresponds with the D-pad (Up for Comms, left for contacts, right for system, and down for crew). Now, these aren't massive issues and are more of an annoyance than anything. Playing on M+KB is temporarily out of the question for me. Are there any recommended controller setups or setups that people have found to be very useful?

Edit - 12/12/22: Turns out I'm an idiot and didn't have the 'gamepad default, 1, 2' etc selected. The controls are now working as if I were playing on the Xbox version.

all I can offer is this scroll to bottom to download (I just use a standard one)
but slow rebinding to find your true preference comes with time...……………...

Did same for my PS4 to PC move.
I took about 2 weeks on and off whilst playing, to set up my DS4 controller as PC controller, with (almost) all of the same settings.
Found what I needed to do on PC controller (instead of mouse/keyboard), fired up PS4 and found controller setting and then set up the controller button for the PC.
Didn't attempt to do all in 1 go as would have been too tedious and would have interrupted my play.
Also, you can get the controller to recognise a multi button press .e.g. hold A and press down for Enter Supercruise command.

I also wrote them all down in case the GeforceNow lost the controller settings, but have not needed them again as yet.
It is always there in 'Custom', so far so good. I still have a few functions which need keyboard but can't be bothered with anything not on the PS DS4 controller now.

Can I suggest you rename that as per the sticky / pinned thread at the top of this PC sub-forum. The game has a habit of overwriting / deleting the bindings in the "custom" file - it never does this with a properly renamed binds file.

(Remember though, it is not just changing the file name you also have to change the name inside the file as that is what the game looks for.)
