Seeing a big discrepancy on Python Bulkhead prices on ED Shipyard. Current correct module prices I am seeing at Lunney station are (lower):
Reinforced Alloy: 22,791,271cr
Military Grade: 51,280,361cr
Mirrored Surface: 121,192,586cr
Reactive Surface: 134,297,567cr
The prices you posted appear to be exactly 90% of what I have in the database; can you make sure there's no 10% discount in effect for you at that station (by double checking in some other system)? Or can anyone else confirm that those prices are the correct baseline before any discounts?

It's possible that I received Python bulkhead prices, thought they were from Shinrarta Dhezra, and erroneously marked them up 10%.

With all these 10% discount offers would it be possible to add a tick box to discount cost by 10%. Just thinking it appears that FD seem to be pushing out odd discounts in different places and this is likely to continue to throw out the calculations.

Sorry for the late response... I have checked the prices of the Python bulkheads in other stations, and they are exactly the same as the lower prices I posted above. So not a 10% discount, possibly a recent adjustment by FD Hope this helps ;)

I have a quandary. Ive 45M cash and a 23M T7. I can either buy a reasonable clipper or a slightly weak Python. I trade and do missions etc, not really a combat fiend. So should I buy one of either and which one or keep on plugging away to a T9?

That slightly weak python is going to be considerably weaker when 1.1 goes live. Shields, speed and agility all got adjusted down by about 30%.

Good point Valethar. Might be prudent to keep on plugging away until 1.1 and then make a choice. By then I may be in T9 territory.

That slightly weak python is going to be considerably weaker when 1.1 goes live. Shields, speed and agility all got adjusted down by about 30%.

Presumably that's across the board though, so the T7, Python and T9 will all be hit by the same 30% downgrade.
The supplied shield generator for the T7 (4E) and Python (6E) have effective strengths of 41.62 and 296.8 MJ, so the Python's shields will remain 7 times stronger than the T7s, as well as the increased cargo space.

One of the things it took me too long to cotton on to is that investing in your ship's equipment (eg. upgrading the cargo holds) doesn't lose you money, as you can downgrade at the outfitters and recoup all your costs (compared with the 90% return you get at the shipyard). It just limits your immediate cashflow. So when you come to move to the T9, whether from your T7 or from an intermediate Python, the effective cost of the python is in those things which can't be downgraded: the hull itself, and the obligatory components. So you'll be between 5,651,458 (if you put in all the original components) and 5,534,021 (if you put in the smallest possible components) credits worse off. Note the I've used the Shipyard's website definition of "smallest possible": The game might not let you go down that far. Frankly, at this point, I don't bother quibbling over 80,000 credits. But you might want to take those expensive upgrades before selling.

Why would they nerf *all* ships by 30%? Then the Python would be just as overpowered as it is now, relative to the rest. I think they're only adjusting the Python.

Anyway, if anyone can get me hard numbers on the Python changes in the 1.1 beta, I'll have them ready to post when it goes live.

Thanks for this, it is awesome and saves me lots of time.

One thing thought, it seems the ship pricing might be off? Sidewinder showing as like 10k but in game it is going for 32k? Eagle same situation..I am not able to give exact info right now as I am at work.

Edit:

I am dumb, I was reading it wrong..forgot about equipment that comes standard. Lol sorry :0

Hi, I was in the same quandary a while ago, I would go with the Python because if you are mostly trading then the more cargo you can carry the quicker you can earn the credits. Even when they nerf the Python it is still going to be a great ship.

Regarding the T9 upgrade later down the track, I purchased one so I could do my credit grinding in it and have the Python as a fun ship using it for combat, exploring etc. But be warned, you will need an extra 20mil credits at a minimum on top to be able to upgrade it enough just to reach most other systems and have some extra cargo space. 30 or 40mil would be better so you can speed it up a bit as well and get the max cargo space. I personally didn't enjoy the ship because it was too slow even with the upgrades so I sold it and stuck with my Python until I had enough to get an Anaconda which I have just recently purchased.

I traded in the Python this time to buy the Conda and I'm loving it, I had an extra 25mil credits which has given me max cargo space (452T with A4 shields) and B6 FDS which gives me enough jump distance (14.95LY fully laden with a full tank) until I can afford the A6 FDS. I have attached my current loadout to give you an idea of what can be done with 25mil. I just reduced my cargo space to 432T and installed a A4 Fuel Scoop and an Advanced Discovery Scanner while I do some exploring, I have just over 7mil credits left after the losd out below to purchase stock and to cover insurance.

I wish I had just kept grinding away in my Python to get the Conda instead of going down the T9 road because I lost about 7mil when I sold it, but that's a choice you will have to make when you get to that point.

There was some good advice a few posts ago in this thread about selling and downgrading your upgrades before trading in your ship, that way you get the full cost back on the components and only lose the 10% on the hull and the cheaper components. I saved myself 2.6mil in credits when I traded in my Python, so it's worth doing it. Sell outright what you can and down grade as far as the game will let you with the components you can't sell outright, e.g. FSD, Thrusters etc. Good luck with your purchases.

I should mention that I purchased the Anaconda and the upgrades at Jameson Memorial with the 10% Alpha discount so if you aren't able to get the discount yet then add 10% for a safety margin to the amounts above.

I used the great load out program that a fellow CMDR created to produce the list below, here is the link just in case you missed it: http://www.edshipyard.com

A very big thank you CMDR for producing this fantastic utility.

Can't see this in the E:D Shipyard? 2E/G 2099900 credits

ps. thanks for making the website.

Just a quick bit of feedback - I noticed the other day using my MBP alongside game and noodling on the iPad that the Export config with stats now comes out as one continuous line instead of a list like before? Could just be an Apple thing?

But still absolutely LOVING the route map - makes working out different configs vs my trade routes so much easier. That alone is worth a quick donation later on.

That's actually a 2E/T, not /G; it's there, just make sure you're looking in the dropdown for a medium hardpoint and not a small.

Hm, could be. Did it work before or had you never tried it on that device? The consensus online seems to be that using \n to set a textarea value in javascript ought to be universal, but maybe that browser insists that it be \r. Unfortunately if that's the case I'm not sure how to detect it.

taleden, I've said it before and I'll say it again, thank you for all your work on this. I don't envy the work you'll have to do every month when a major patch goes live, but tremendously appreciate it as having the info so readily available has been indispensable.

Making updates isn't the hard part -- collecting the data to figure out what needs updating is the real work, and I'm going to be relying on all of you folks for a lot of that. There will undoubtedly be things on the site that will become outdated after every major game patch, but I'll fix them just as soon as someone posts here or emails me to let me know.

Thanks for this tool.

Shield Cell Banks got nerfed in 1.1 - Power Draw increased and Charges decreased (Mass and Price unchanged).
I've updated the table on the wiki with the values that I can. Would be nice if someone else can fill in the missing info.

Thanks for the updated shield cell stats; I can gather them for sizes 5 and 6 but probably not for a few days, and I'll need someone with a Type-9 to report the stats for the rest.
