Enclosure Building Fails

Not exactly a habitat fail. But have any of you already accidently overwrote a project with another one? Well, I have. Weeks of work just turned into dust. I could slap myself!!!

I've done that twice, because I always build in the same part of the world (UK) and cycle through two zoo names (Perth and Kinross). Fortunately I don't mind as much, as I often get the urge to restart anyway. 😅

"OK, I'm ready to build barriers and a habitat gate on this massive enclosure I've been building terrain and viewing areas for forever. Now I know that once I put that habitat gate in it can't be deleted, so whatever I do do not save"

Keeps working

Game: Hey, I haven't autosaved in a while

Me: Nah, I'm not ready to put the gate in yet. Reload the last save. Hey, why is there still a- ah, crap.

I have the urge to restart often too, but with this zoo I had the "still love" situation.
Thankfully a new idea is already sparking, that'll help me finally play with animals I had never used yet. Just need a name, as ny creative brain doesn't function propperly without a name.

Glad to hear by the way that I am not the only one that is bound to a biome. I can't get myself to work in another biome than the one that is natural to me. (Tempered, Europe). Plus, it's suitable without coolers or heaters most of the time.

Poor you! I saw it on Instagram this morning, that's really sad. It won't help you with this loss, but I copy the save files to another folder from time to time. I suggest doing that, at least after major progresses. I hope you can keep your spirit up for the next zoo!

Indeed. I'd love to build in New Zealand, of course, but without New Zealand animals no zoo constructed there really feels like a New Zealand zoo, and I suspect NZ animals are a long way off if they ever make it in at all.

This thread brightened up my afternoon. I don't have a picture but I build a grizzly bear enclosure next to peafowls. On one small section of the fence, the anti climb barrier was missed. It did not end well 😓

I'm glad it made your day better after this Accident happened.
My Grizzly Bears are escaping all the time. But luckily only the juvenile Bears. They just climb trough the Walls of the Hut that is built at the Entrance of the Enclosure

Funny you mention that - I built a tiger habitat with a wooden viewing gallery overlooking the water. My tiger swam up, and climbed the wooden post of the viewing gallery and sat on the roof for a snooze. I didn't even get the escape notification!

I've been meaning to post this here for a while
