Engineers Engineering Database And Calculator [Engineers Update]

Also, given the increasing number of long and detailed reports and guides, you guys may want to add a column in the materials table for relevant links and references. Like this one for Pollonium and a couple others mentioned here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/261858-3-days-26-polonium-and-19-yttrium-later

Done for this thread, I'll see tonight if there are more in the posts. But elements stuff should be the domain of Prospectors, I try to avoid doing the job twice. I poked them. thanks!

Of course, by all means, organize the info in Inara as you see fit. I may not yet know all its intricacies :p

All the sheets are locked so not sure where to add the following:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...mware/page10?p=4083655&viewfull=1#post4083655

Specialized Legacy Firmware can be found with very high probabilty in Satellite USS, which are typically found in orbit around civilized earthlike planets.

I can confirm the sat thing in case any one is skeptical. I scoped a wide variety of planets and if they show up anywhere other than earth like (works for Earth which is about as earth like as it gets) I didn't see one. My method was to just head full throttle and pull up, you'll eventually find a pitch rate that matches your velocity. USSes pop up fairly regularly with one, every few minutes or so.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! They are the most hellish ones to find for some of the basic upgrades I want.

What does the USS say specifically? Just degraded emissions detected or satellite?

From supercruise they show up as regular Threat 0 Encoded Emissions.

Satellite ones appear first with the usual "Unknown Signal Source" like everything else. Once you perform a regular scan on them the name updates to read "Satellite".

EDIT: So, after a couple checks. Booster Shield's values are indeed different. I checked the screenshots, they are. Values aren't always the same between different engineers.
Burst Laser was an error, fixed.
The Frag Cannon is different too. Inara display's Tod's values, which aren't the same as Nemo's, apparently, as you can see here : https://youtu.be/HGX9tD0D5_c?t=52s; which are yet other values than those we have received.

I've already mentioned this to Qohen internally, but I thought I'd point this out to the community. This screenshot is from that video:

http://image.prntscr.com/image/9e862dc21b334ac6861613cd3aa269b3.png

As you can see in the screenshot above, the modification reports an anomaly in DPS and Damage - either a slight increase or a large decrease, which is abnormal for modifications.

This is because a modification's reported possible values are actually changed if you have mods currently installed that change those values.

This is why the reported numbers in this video vary widely from collected data. My guess, based on the numbers, is that the individual already has a weapon modification installed from a different engineer, that has influenced these values.

If possible, when comparing numbers for errors, please make sure your ship is clean of all modifications. If you don't want to lose your installed modifications, simply buying a sidewinder in the same system to visit the Engineer with will ensure your data is clean and error-free.

Thank you everyone for your help so far!

Information about leveling up with Todd "The Blaster" McQuinn is erroneous, both here and on Inara.cz. Alliance bounties do not qualify.

I tested this with around 450,000 of purely Alliance Bounty Vouchers handed in at his location. I waited 15 minutes ingame to make sure it wasn't lag or a delay of some sort, in addition to closing both the game & launcher and logging back in. 0%, rank 1, before & after.

Please change this information on your spreadsheet & have Inara.cz update their information as well; I'm only glad I didn't waste more time because of it & tried to collect a more substantial amount of bounties....

p.s. In your "Components" spreadsheet, it lists Soontil Relics? I'm 99% sure those are just a rare commodity same as Lavian Brandy or whatever. Probably doesn't belong on that particular list.

Bounty vouchers removed, too many 'not working' statements. Inara will update soon.

Soontil Relics are not used in any mod indeed, it'll go away someday, no worries.

Thanks for updating it so soon!

In case this helps others: in an attempt to find his specific bounties I sat in the Wolf 397 nav beacon awhile and hunted "wanted" ships, then tried bounties from other factions. (Can't hand in Federal or Imperial bounties, of course, so those are out.)

Other bounties that definitely do not qualify (names may be off slightly) (process of elimination!):
Social Wolf 397 Progressive Party
Wolf 397 Dominion
Blue Fortune
Wolf 397 Independents

(Judging by google-browsing the bug reports area, Frontier is aware and investigating the issue!)

Rep sir for your efforts!

I did not know this until reading this thread again, unfortunately i wasted 2 nights attempting the same as you, and Tod the Blaster was the nicest name that came out my mouth, and other names can not be printed on this forum with a Ban.

Strange Wake Solutions

I don't know where you guys are collecting this information, so I post it here.

I've spent 4 hours around Jameson Memorial and I only had 2 Strange Wake Solutions. That made me think that maybe just like the 3-2-1 rule of prospecting Strange Wake Solutions also depends on something. If it depended on the type of system I am in, then I would have zero Strange Wake Solutions there. But I had some, very little. So I thought that maybe it depends on the jump target system.

I found someone talking that in Procyon it is easy to get them, so I went to Sakers Enterprise station (most of NPC ships align with escape vector so all wakes are close to each other) and I was finding 1 Strange Wake Solutions every 10 minutes, I got 12 total in 120 minutes. The ships that had Strange Wake Solutions were leaving from here to following systems:

4 Luyten's star
2 YZ CANIS MINORIS
1 Ross 47
1 Ross 614
1 Luyten 674-15
1 Sol
1 G 99-49
1 UGPS 0722-05

I'm back with more info on Todd.

Relevant bug report: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...t-Full-Relaunch-Of-Game?p=4110250#post4110250

TL/DR summary: Confirmed that only his bounties do work (and that they also do in fact exist...almost didn't believe it at first).
There is some ambiguity caused by how the unlocks/progression often does not appear without a serious delay or without relaunching the game entirely.

Bonus information: about 60,000 cr (it was between 60,000 and 60,999 cr, I can't recall the exact amount) took me from Grade 1 Access (0%) to Grade 2 Access (20%). (How this scales as you continue up the grades is beyond me, but at least it's some indication.)

edit: Seems like there's some combat zones in Wolf 397 this week, but I've seen multiple forum posts saying combat bonds do not work for Todd from threads around 2-3 weeks ago, so that's probably a red herring for the purposes of ranking up with Todd. I might visit one and see if I can pick off "wanted" combatants without signing up to one of the warring factions.

I believe the confusion has been two-fold:
1. The initial unlock mission with Todd will take 100,000CR's worth of any bounty in the galaxy, from what I can tell (he took Federation bounties for me, which can't be handed in at his location)
2. Many players, by habit, just cash in all bounties at once rather than do them 1 by 1 (it is a bit of a drag that way) and made incorrect assumptions as a result

That, or there's some really bizarre underlying problem where some CMDRs are able to hand in these Alliance bounties (the most common kind available in the area) and others are restricted to Todd bounties....

I find the first explanation to be much more likely, especially considering QA replies to other bug reports seem to indicate that it's intentional for only Todd's bounties to qualify for furthering his reputation. (lame, but it seems like it won't take more than few hundred thousand CR's worth at least?)

That was my understanding as well, but i kept hearing players unable to hand any bounty, or those having no effect at all... :/

Constants!B16 should be Multi-Cannon not Multicannon as it is at current. This is currently causing the viewer to fail when attempting to look at multi-cannon modifications.
