Has it already been explained whether we will be able to apply a new G5 modification to a grandfathered module already at G5? Or is it just as starting from vanilla?
When I converted some old g5s, it seemed to wipe the special. I must be mistaken because I don't see rivers of blood.
Does anyone know if its just g5s that get grandfathered to a lower grade or all. So if you have a g4 it gets converted to a g3 and so forth.
Yes, there are multiple topics on this. You can save yourself a lot of trouble buy doing even the worst G5 roll, as you can skip g1-g4 in the new system. You will need a g5 in the same mod type though,ie dirty drive for dirty drive. I spent the last few weeks engineering my entire fleet of 22 ships this way.
I saw a video by one of the youtubers tgat started out with a g4 and he did indeed get a G3 module after converting.
DEAR LORD!!! I'm cursing at four ships...

According to Obsidian Ant's video covering the new engineering cow dung changes converting an existing g5 to the new system will convert it to a BASE g4 under the new rules. Basically if you want to convert your modules you better be ready with enough g4 mats to roll at least 3 times per module to get them to the new g5 AT ALL (totally seems fair, NOT). Enjoy!
