COMPLETED CG Enhanced AX Project: AX Multi-Cannon Turreted

I've just finished building a Type-10 anti-scout AX ship with four Class 3 turreted Enhanced AX Multi-cannons strapped on and I love how this build simply shreds scouts. I find though that these weapons only seem to work in either "forward only" or "target" modes; "fire at will" just locks these weapons forward and never fires at hostiles, even if the target is just meters away. Is this happening to everyone or is this just a glitch for me?

Are any of the hostiles called Will?

I think you're right, I used to find that in an Anaconda. They need some other weapon to hit the target first; a small laser turret or suchlike.

For the record, hitting a target with another weapon while in "Fire at Will" mode doesn't help.

So is this a glitch or are AX weapons really designed to not fire at will?

Am I right in saying that the class 2 enhances ax multi cannon has a faster ratr of fire and a higher ax damage than the class 3 of the same weapon.
Nope it has a faster projectile travel time... this lowers the dodge rate from AI....

The rounds load into the barrel at the same exact rate... the extra speed out the weapon results in less missing their target which results in more damage as the target has less time to jink out the way.... same happens with rail guns and shot runs and PAs the faster the projectiles leave the weapon the lower the dodge rate from the AI so the more hits on target...

As the images uploaded in the topic showed the fire rate value is not altered...

All enhanced AX weapons Keep the exact same stats as their not enhanced version but the projectile speed iis ncreased on the enhanced version...
if the turret fire rate was 6.25 per second on base build it remains 6.25 on the enhanced version turret no matter the size...
If you posted in the wrong section and meant the fixed AX weapons version that different...

From edsy

2E Enhanced Multicanon (gimbaled)
Anti-Xeno Damage 72.973%
Rate of Fire 7.143/s
Shot Speed 4,000M/s

3E Enhanced Multicanon (gimbaled)
Anti-Xeno Damage 70.4225%
Rate of Fire 5.882/S
Shot Speed 4,000M/s

I read that as the class 2 weapon does more ax damage than the class 3.

Weapon size matters, though. I imagine class 2 weapons suffer a bigger penalty against larger ships (meaning Interceptors) than class 3? That's how non-AX weapons work, if I remember right.

well when the war started I went out in a cobra with 2 medium multi cannons, I've just been building a vulture with 2 large multi cannons, so I'll see if it feels better,
