I don't know what you're talking about, I love every single one of those ships, they are all fantastic.

Clipper especially has been used by many players to probe the Maelstrom. I'd love to see some screenshots. Flossy, you around?
I love my clipper too, it's a very good core miner and I also purposely built a cold running one to harvest caustic generator tissue samples.

But I really couldn't find a practical use for gunship & crusader. They're incredibly slow for med combat ships and if I wanted a med ship with SLF bays I'd go with krait.

My 2 cr.

It's a terrible core miner because the reticles for fixed weapons get drawn nowhere near where they actually land. If you're shooting at fissures or deposits you may as well ignore the HUD completely because it's useless trying to aim with it.

Crusader is pretty much only good if you use the small power play weapons. If you do that though, they can actually take it over the top and make it quite decent. For ax, however, the main purpose is being able to fit four players for multi-crew. It's the only mediumship that can do that.

As far as the gunship is concerned, it's actually holding quite a few of the medium speed records on the axi leaderboards. It has some pretty insane Firepower for its size, and it especially works well with ax weapons, because the most powerful versions are usually class 2. It does basically require bilateral fa off cold orbiting, but trying to fly mine actually made me about twice as good of a pilot, so I can thoroughly endorse it once you achieve a reasonable degree of competence. I don't like flying it everyday, but when I want to feel like an Unstoppable brick, there is no better option.

Honestly, I just think that there's a lot of ships that have been unfairly neglected, and I'm always super excited to see less commonly used ships get new skins.

Wonder what's up with the ship choices. FDev should know that gunship & crusader is one of the less popular ships for combat.

Especially for AX combat.
You obviously know nothing about the Gunship. It's basically a medium sized Corvette. The Crusader also has some good niche roles. Only none large ship that holds 4 players and don't complain about net code because FDev actually fixed it since my group has had fun ferrying 4 people around in a Crusader doing ground CZs.

I'm happy for you, but pls tone it down.

Aegis has been assigned a generous budget to purchase large quantities of cobalt, ion distributors and power converters.
Looks at the prices It seems we have different definitions of "generous" - normally, CG prices are among the highest for that commodity, but there are systems where you could turn a decent profit buying cobalt at the CG price.

Wait, is Aegis embezzling our cobalt?

Yeah, the prices are strange: 10% above galactic average (which is rather less than normal market sale prices), rather than the CG-normal 300% above.

My Crusader is my PvE Ody multiplayer mission & ground CZ boat.

... 2 scorpions, 4 comfy seats, 3 missile racks, 2 medium beams and a frag cannon in the large slot...

And, I have to say that the Crusader definitely got the best of the three AEGIS Rampart paint jobs...

Which small PP weapons to go? Cryto (Delaine), Enforcer (Pranav) or Retributor (Mahon)?
Cyto is best by a pretty wide margin, but enforcers aren't bad. Retributors are pretty mediocre, generally you are better off with a rapid fire thermal shock pulse laser instead.

Advanced missile racks are also extremely potent.

"The top ten contributors will receive a Thargoid Pulse Neutralizer" - Thanks for the new community goal, but I must say I'm disappointed that only the top ten contributors are eligible for the Thargoid Pulse Neutralizer. Would it be possible to make the module available to all players so that everyone can benefit from it after the CG is done, not that we have to grind for materials again?

I kinda like the skins. Not quite as cool as the Azimuth ones, but not bad. It would be neat if the base color were white. Would make them a nice contrast to Black azimuth.

Maybe a white alternative later on?

If Tier 1 of the campaign is reached, the Thargoid Pulse Neutraliser will be made available at tech brokers on all rescue megaships.

Now, of course, it’s entirely possibly that the materials required to unlock one of these new MacGuffins at said Tech Broker are only available once you’re already flown past the pulse inside a maelstrom …

I tried to go to Tau Ceti in order to buy some cobalt for the CG, and the game crashed to desktop when trying to load that star system. I'm guessing because there being so many players there (I am playing in solo mode, but AFAIK that doesn't matter.)

Problem is, now every time I try to launch the game it tries to put me in Tau Ceti, ie. it tries to load that system, and the game crashes to desktop. Meaning I can't play the game at all. (Tried in both Odyssey and Horizons modes, and it's the same in both. Tried open mode and solo mode, no difference.)

Am I the only one experiencing this?

That is the kind of situation where it is worth asking support to move you.
If it is because of the number of Fleet Carriers, then might I suggest sourcing your cobalt from Sol (Daedalus in Mercury orbit), as this is a permit-locked system where Fleet Carriers cannot go - and there is good supply there, just 12.07 LY from the CG system.

The end time of the CG is now 05:00 UTC (06:00 BST) so that you can check how you have done before the downtime. Not that I'll be up at that time in the morning! :ROFLMAO:
