Also, I wonder if some of our tough griefers will turn up at the meeting point. Shooting unarmed fish in the DW2 barrel? Impressing [rolleyes]. Going 600 hours in Supercruise to score the most prolific hit ever? Now that would show determination.

88 days in the void.. the rescue is just almost a "Hutton" away.. last bearing check tomorrow at 2100 Sol (UTC).. On Wednesday evening they should be on top of my location ready for the actual search and rescue.. we will wait then till 23rd to give ourselves a lot of time and flexibility for potential error correction..
The Rats have done an amazing job so far.. I have no reason not to trust their skills and experience.. All I need to do is to follow the Spatch orders and be swift with my modules, beacon etc.

And let me say one more thing.. the support of the ED Community is simply outstanding!!! Thank y'all for that... it is very important for all of us and one hell of a way to say a huge "Thank You" to the Mischief

Good afternoon all, I want to introduce myself real quick. I do not play ED, I am not even sure if I had really heard of it until about 2 hours ago. I wanted to give you all a shout out, for a couple of reasons. First, the community here is obviously outstanding, the camaraderie among commanders who do not even know each other, astonishing. Secondly, and the reason I'm even here? This popped up on my Google News Articles on my phone, so what you guys are doing is in essence, national news, if not international seeing as how this forum is based in the UK. Just a big shout out and good job to the Rats, from North Idaho, US, back in SOL. Even if I don't take the time to start playing, I will continue watching your progress and hope your mission is successful. Great job team! Good luck Commander Deluvian!

Hello Guys and Girls :)

I'm an old time PC player and I play a bit of E:D because I know this game since the PC version back in the 80s.
In my now long gaming "career" I've seen a lot of extreme ways to play a game. I've seen people speed-running game, grinding rpg to insanity. I've seen guilds trying hard for world first, raiding 12hrs a day in WoW. I've seen the emergence of e-sport and teams training professionnaly 7 days a week.
But what I see here, is new to me. I dont even know how to name it. What you guys are doing, be it Deluvian trying for the longest trip from SOL or the rats, trying to rescue him like a diver trying to rescue an apneist gone too far, is EXTREME GAMING.
I just wanted to post here, from France, to express all the admiration I have for you all, and I truly believe that this mission will be a milestone in gaming alltogether.

Watched a bit of highwaywarrior's twitch stream today (basically just endless supercruise with some relaxing music and lots of fun chat with people asking about the rescue). Was struck by the number of viewers.

Anyhoo, completely coincidentally I just googled for Elite twitch statistics (was trying to find viewer age distribution for another thead) and I spotted this.

Awesome to watch the latest bearing check on twitch just a few minutes ago, with voice channel. I'll let the main protagonists report on it themselves, don't want to steal their thunder, but someone on the voice channel mentioned something like 1k1 viewers or so. This is attracting a lot of attention.

Answering the questions of the viewers and reflecting back on the journey to the client's system was actually rather satisfying and fun, though I do have to say that talking in front of over one thousand people is quite the experience (and pretty intimidating at first, too). Thanks to everyone for supporting us on this epic journey, the Elite community is truly a gem! I hope to see you all out in the black when we return from the void o7!
