Explorer's Anchorage: No Universal Cartographics

As it stands now, the new space station "Explorer's Anchorage" near the center of the galaxy has no Universal Cartographics and Advanced Maintenance services. I would like to sell my considerable amount of exploration data and repair the integrity of my ship before heading out way into the black towards Beagle Point. Now, I know the new station is still under construction, but I find it somewhat ironic that a station called Explorer's Anchorage is not able to cater to explorers' needs. There is already a commodity market and a(n empty) mission board, even a black market but no UC or AM.

Do we have any information whether the services will be added in the coming weeks while the CG lasts and/or before the expedition leaves the station behind? I won't mind what happens after we start the final push towards BP but if we have a station here, I'd like to at least "bank in" what I currently have.

Thanks for any info on this. o7

We don't know in what order services will be added, but see here for the construction schedule. As you can see, it will be mostly complete well before we leave.

Not a lot we can do....either sit in the Station & wait or go & do a bit of exploring around Sag A* & wait for the mining CG.

Currently I'm docked there waiting on my main account & I'm heading there on my 2nd account.

Just waiting for the CG to get going, though I will check out some systems for the best mining rings

Thank you. It's a little vague but it looks like the CG will determine the further services.

Yeah. That has been said again and again. CG1 builds the barebone-station. CG2 determines what services the station will get. However I remember James posting a couple days ago, that FD might consider giving us UC before the CG. Just in case people fear taking part in the CG because of the small chance to be destroyed and lose the data. We'll see next thursday.

FD: There's going to be a CG to build the station, and another to add services.

DW2 organisers: What they said.

Countless posts on the forum: WHY IS EVERYTHING NOT IMMEDIATELY HERE I NEED TO DO THINGS RIGHT NOW AND CANNOT WAIT OR GO ELSEWHERE

Because the only players who have an advantage from no UC at the new EXPLORATION starport at the center of the milky way are gankers who want to mine salt from explorers that lose their data.

Every other player doesn't lose anything by a UC immediately at the starport. But nooooo, of course it's "Elite: Harmless" if there's a UC at the port. Sure sure...

It is part of the "RP-story" and reasoning behind a second CG, that the new station is no comfort-zone right from the start and that we actually have to work for it to become one. This has nothing to do with gankers. The organisation team recommends playing the game in Private Group which seems to be mostly free of gankers. Should someone be ganked in one of the dedicated PGs Frontier has offered to step in (and already has in several cases). If someone chooses to play in Open they have to live with the possibility of ganking. No valid reason for me to make the second CG pointless.

At least there should be the ability to pay fines. Undocking with my Beluga brought me a 50cr fine. I was in a mining outfit without booster or scoop. No chance to pay or to refit my ship. So i had to self destroy, found myself back in colonia...

Anyone attacking an explorer in the system with the starport gets locked out of the starport facilities (such as they are) themselves, so isn't really benefiting from it being there. Anyone attacking an explorer elsewhere isn't affected by the starport's presence at all.

Sure, explorers can't currently sell exploration data to reduce the impact of losing their ship. This will also be true at every waypoint after this one because there won't be any starports near there at all, though. It's not like the starport not having UC is introducing some unique *disadvantage* to this waypoint.

All I ever do is explore. Which means I spend most of my time thousands of light years from a station. I don't throw my toys out the pram because I don't get to sell my data immediately.

If offloading it before the CG is so incredibly important to you, go to Colonia. Otherwise, just wait for the thing that everyone was told would happen. Or go and play a game which is designed to be as easy as possible.

This is being taken care of, FD have promised to enable authority contact soon. You could have asked here or in the Discord before self-destroying.

With all the handwavium nowadays I wonder what happens next thursday :)

Maybe, on the route from Colonia back to the new station, you could learn to fly the whale you bought.

I came from Colonia to take part in the CG. In open. With a prismatic Phantom. I was willing to run the gauntlet in open. For fun. What I'm not willing to do is run that gauntlet time and time again for the fun of gankers, just because FD didn't put a UC in an specifically designated exploration starport, during a mining CG. I play for my own fun. Meanwhile I sit in the starport and hone my CQC skills instead.
And your last comment is just a cheap shot.

Never got a fine by npc´s crashing in you ? You´re very lucky !

I was under 100 until my nose was already in the mailslot (while undocking). Full throttle and a npc coming from side/behind me crashed into me - giving me a fine for reckless flying. Its so ridiculous. But normaly i don´t mind about it if i have a chance to pay nearby. There many other bugs that are more important to fix.

Wise words. sadly they'll go ignored as people just want everything now now NOW, without having to work for them. and when they get ganked in open for hanging around a hotspot, that'll naturally be everyone else's fault too.

Sure, it's a cheap shot. Because you're moaning about something which was clearly planned out and stated in advance, and which everyone should have been aware of. You say you came to the CG, but the CG starts next week, so why did you come early? I just don't get it. I don't understand why you're upset about everything not being laid on a plate for you, so that you can be involved in a CG before it's happening. I don't understand why you're worrying about losing your exploration data if you're running the open gauntlet for fun. I mean, the ganking is going to be there regardless of the services offered - so if you're concerned about losing 10000Ly of data, don't go to a high-profile station in open; or, if you're not concerned about losing your data, stop complaining.

And take responsibility for your own decisions. You decided to travel from Colonia to an explicitly unfinished station to take part in a CG, in open, before the CG has started. That is on you, and nobody else.

err you do know the CG doesn't start for another week? be patient, maybe the UC will be there tomorrow, or for the start of the CG. going out there a week early when the station is a bare bones shell, which anyone who had bothered to read the lore about it knew it would be this week, is YOUR fault, not Frontiers.

In other words, you broke the very clearly stated speed limit whilst in the station. And you're upset about the consequences. Did anyone ever tell you that the speed limit zone ends once your nose is in the mailslot? If they did, go and have a word with them, because they were lying to you. If not, accept that you screwed up.

Me, I've not had a fine anywhere near a station since I was in a sidewinder. I wait the few seconds it takes to clear the station before accelerating, and I learnt how to fly. Quite simple really. If you don't want to do that, fine, you can play the game however you want, but again, take responsibility for your actions.
