Explorer's Bar and Grill Visitor Log

Pheww!! That was something! This FC was a sight to my sore eyes and will be resting with my companion here for a drink or too.
A question though, commanders.. I do have to retract my steps correct? All the way till 'Hansel' system and I will not find some breakaway route to Perseus Arm?

Arm's End.jpg

I made the side trip out to Arm's End on our way around the Galaxy in my DBX, DEEP BLACK. Hit Colonia, Sag A, Beagle/Salomes, Colonia again, Erickson's in an Artemis Corp. expedition Carrier, ATC Archimedes, and then Amundsen's with the other expedition co-leader in our DBX's. So the galactic extremes of N, W, S, and then here. There were definitely a lot of FSD injections required for the last leg, but overall it wasn't too bad navigating the last 2000 Ly by hand. It gives me a tiny flavour of what the old time explorers had to deal with before engineering.

It feels pretty remote out here, only surpassed by an ill-fated trip across The Abyss, SE of beagle point.

Another "really remote region" off the list and some refreshments to boot!

I will enjoy a day of rest before heading back towards the bubble, and turning N and E to finish our circumnavigation of the galaxy's extremes at Magellan's star.

Cheers, and don't let the space madness get you out there!

How much did you spend? I'm at the last carrier before the goal and want sure how much jumponium to gather since my current system is green.
Took me ~26 boosted jumps coming from DSSA Aristarchos in Eocs Aihm XX-U d2-6
A few of those were basic or Standard but most were premium.
Update: I should clarify, I'm flying an Anaconda with a 76ly unladen jump range and I was limiting my fuel to ~9-13 tons by scooping only minimally after each jump.
Looking at my EDD logs, my first FSD synth on this leg was in Byaesms FI-B d13-0, so I was able to plot a course from Eocs Aihm XX-U d2-6 to Byaesms FI-B d13-0, which was about 50 jumps, and then manually plotted from there.
From there is was ~33 jumps total, only 26 needed boosting.

Germanium was my limiting factor so I stopped at a few planets along the way to stock up on germanium and other mats.
I have 47 left now which should be plenty to get me back out again.
I just did a manual plot after each jump using the radial lines from my current location to find a jump in the right direction.

Finally!! Visiting the Arms End has been on my bucketlist for a long time and after many trips north to BP, SagA* and Colonia it was time to head south again. Arrived at the "Bar & Grill" yesterday (17.12.3307) after almost 2500LYs of boostjumping. As each jump had to be planned manually it took some time to get there, but the "Prometheus", my 70LY Anaconda filled with jumponium made it a smooth and easy ride. The main destination on my journey is Magellan's Star and the next challenge will be to cross the Perseus Fade and continue northeast from there. This is my Captains logbook during the expedition so feel free to take a look!

Thank you for the hospitality and letting me stay at the Bar & Grill to relax for a few days! Its so great to have the DSSA carriers stationed at distant places like this. Sold around 100M in explorerdata as a small contribution and gratitude.

Well done! This felt like more of an adventure than BP did for me.

Arrived safe and sound yesterday. Enjoyed the view and the hospitality! Unloaded a few millions worth of exploration data.
