It's very hard to farm ELW's. It's not like they can be located ont he galaxy map on something. Sure you could make it a priority to look for them, but it won't make them any easier to find.
As is, I'm at about 100 ELW's discovered on my current trip, and about 220k LY travelled. In a period of 5 months, that works out to a good night doing Robigo runs.
Z...
I'm at a mere 22 first discovered and 2 that were scanned
And I've been through 10,700 systems so far.
Although I must admit I have probably done 4000 of those without looking at the system map because I was either trying to catch up with DW or racing for a fuel rat rescue (2 on trip so far, 2 successful
In case anyone is interested this is my 5 months stats:
I scan any ELW system, any sys with 2+ WW's.
Any system with AW + one other interesting body.
I scan all BH/NS.
So I've skipped a fair few WW's and a small number of AW. (Full disclosure).
Systems scanned ~10,700
As you can see I've been nebula hunting
This relates to profits of:
Estimated profits:
Even cutting sys map profit by a full 50% that's still 10 times the profit from scanning high value systems. In these ELW/AW systems I did scan the minor planets too but they'll only come to a max of 5mil altogether, probably much less.
Yes my numbers may be a bit out but even a 10% error band on both figures and as I say it's a factor of 10 difference if you cherry-pick scan.

These 2 tables is where this entire thread came from by the way
