Failure Developments at it again

The sad thing is that there's CMDRs out there who are whiteknighting the crap out of Fdev right now...
like sure guys don't worry!
They're gonna squash all the bugs, like all the others that plague this game since several years..

Honestly, this patch wiped near all my motivation to keep playing this game.
I am on the edge of wiping the game completly off my harddrive
Do it!

OK I'll go full tinfoil.

If,,, I was an Ancient Alien Theorist, we could all be looking at some large scale masterplan of diabolical proportions (you have to mentally read this as the voiceover guy says it) that may cause some major changes if it was allowed to take place due to the possible connivance of the major world powers.

So what did I say? Well nothing really. Coulda, shoulda, maybe etc.

However if we are at some stopgap scenario where the game is only in the hands of a couple of Devs we might be looking at a wind down whilst the 2020 introduction is formed. Left alone these Devs have failed to see the significance of the beta failure, yet if the DBOBE knew what had happened, would the galaxy spin ever faster...? Ancient Alien Theorists say otherwise.....

Mental resilience is also important for dealing with technology when it goes wrong, otherwise bad things happen to computers, consoles etc.... 😉

Its typically something you fall back on because you have no other choice.

Its out of scope for entertainment, past times, and definitely something you wouldn't pay for.

There are many ways to look at the state of ed, but if its coming across that you care about and have more respect for elite dangerous the software than its stewards do, of course people are going to have a go at them. Its a subconscious association that the only way you would allow your own elite to be in such disrepair is if you didn't care. Going through the motions.

Its even more funny because this release was so overtly self serving to frontier and nothing for existing players.. and they couldn't even get their own features right.

Anyway, while its true i have to admit ive been off playing other things for a while (from falling out of love with elite) so water down my post a bit :) Just found spiders games.. technomancer is cheap and somehow addictive. Swtor is alive and just about to get a new expansion too.

It'll get sorted eventually, software development isn't easy and I'm just glad that they are still working on this game.
Finally able to login! Got stuck into some bounty hunting, loving those chevrons on the speedometer! Game crashed after about half an hour, but at least I can play again 😀

Common sense and education still can't stop people from occasionally f@#$ing things up, especially in their first few years in their chosen profession. Many years of experience really do help to reduce the number of f@#$ ups, but even then they do still happen, albeit very rarely! Again, please explain how us mere mortals can become perfect beings who never, ever f@#$ anything up @ work?

Naa, you mere mortals are doomed to failure 😁

I hoped the funky arrow would move backwards when reverskiing, but no, it doesn't (or did I do wrong?)
Literally unplayable.

Its nice to know that five years in, we can finally answer the greatest most vexing question of all in ED. No, not when Powerplay is being updated, but if your ship is going forwards....or backwards. Frankly if people can't work that out, I wonder if the voice over in the training should refuse to start the engines.

I mean, the moving arrow is a nice thing, but only if it shows the direction of your thrust, otherwise it's a totally useless gimmick with no positive effect.
Of course that is waaaaaaaaaaaay down the list of things to fix and I'm not entirely sure if I did right (I reversed thrust and the arrow kept moving forward, but I was still moving forward too due to
momentum shrugs literally unplayable…)

It was most likely a sideproject for an intern or someone waiting for input from someone else, who had a little fun making the UI slightly more pretty.

Please ask for job in Frontier and show them how they should do it .. right :). This release of update was working for me really well during yesterday (big positive difference to practically all before released updates). Some bugs were expected to happen and store is not important atm ... they will repair it quickly, it's theirs best interest afterall :)
Easy - all it takes to stop this stuff happening is someone whose job it is to say - “No. you cannot release this code until it works.”

And don’t tell me testing didn’t reveal all these huge, obvious and in your face from the get go bugs. If they were missed then it wasn’t tested in any meaningful sense of the term.

It’s been standard practice for any games I’ve tested for developers to simply ignore even the most serious of reported and confirmed problems and then act all surprised when the release goes pear-shaped.

FD is still eating and living on previous Elite games reputation... If the previous games didn t exist, this game would be even more dead than now...
I wonder how long hardcore FD defender will continue to be blind...

That's an interesting statement! I had always thought that 'dead' was an end state. So assuming that to be true I'd really like to find out from you, how something could be "even more dead" than Dead ?

Seems a little wierd as a statement.
