Failure Developments at it again

Same with Black Desert Online. I have over 10000 hours in that already, that's twice my ED playtime in one year less.
Hey, is that game any good? I notice it's on sale today. I used to play ESO on PS4, but I'm more of a fan of games like Dragon's Dogma. Anywho, tell me what you like about BDO please.

It's a very beautiful seamless gameworld, lots and lots of things to do, questing, crafting, grinding. Sandbox game as well, but with Sahara depths of sand compared to the mere inches of ED. For a new player it can be overwhelming. Whatever you do, you progress in some way. Openworld PvP is a thing, but a proper karma system keeps ganking in check. And if it happens, well, no loss, just respawn at the nearest town or node. It has structured PvP in the form of node wars and sieges, for which you should be in a guild. Content updates are fairly frequent, various events are being run in between.

It has it's dark sides as well. There's no PvE endgame of any kind, the gear enchantment gets increasingly brutal the closer you get to endgame gear, you have no impact on the gameworld itself as a player, the cash shop is fairly expensive and slightly P2W. Definitely check if you like it before you buy. There's a 7 day free trial and lots and lots of video material on YT on both the good and the bad.

I want to buy it since years but the characters look too much like anime for my taste.
Why can't anybody create a low fantasy RPG?!

It's actually far less pronounced. It's the most "realistic" eastern MMO as far as gear design is concerned. And the characters themselves are entirely in your hand, the character editor is among the best on the market. My characters look nothing Anime.
