Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

Collared Peccary, Reeves Muntjac and Takin are my top 3 ungulates that I really wish for, but as far as antelopes go I would still like to see:

Common Eland - since the Giant Eland is practicaly non-existant in zoos (at least in EU), I would certainly go for this one.
Generuk - it is a mix of nostalgia and their really unique appearance for me.
Klipspringer or Kirk´s Dik-Dik - the first one has a really unqie biome (and if we could get a Rock Hyrax, would make an amazing combo) and the second one is quite common, in the end I just really want a tiny-sized antelope.
Blackbuck or Nilgai - just to get a non-african antelope.

Wilhelma also has brushtail possums in the new Australia house. Let’s hope they get their rightful popularization as well.
My local zoo also has them in the nocturnal house with sugar gliders. They are both so much fun to watch.

Do you think it’s real or fake?
ONE OF A KIND 🦒 The world's rarest giraffe was born in Tennessee last month!

The giraffe born without spots on July 31 is the only one of her kind on Earth, officials with Bright Zoo said Monday.

The zoo is asking the public to help name her. Giraffe experts believe she is the only solid-colored reticulated giraffe living anywhere on the planet. The baby is now available for viewing at the zoo. https://tinyurl.com/2p99mavv

Jumping in with a question:
What are you all think about the antelopes we have in game? Do you think need more, or are you happy with what we have?

I'll start. I think we can all agree the blackbuck is kind of essential. But as far as African antelope go. I would like the kudu. I also really want a duiker, either the yellow-backed or red flanked. But honestly, I wouldn't be super disappointed of we didn't get more.
I would be ecstatic if Saiga antelope made it into the game as a unique endangered species. There is still some zoos that keep them.

From wiki - "Currently, only the Almaty Zoo and Askania-Nova keep saigas. Cologne Zoological Garden and San Diego Zoo had them in the past. Pleistocene Park in northern Siberia plans to introduce the species."

Wow, that's quite beautiful. She looks like a horse with an elongated neck

Cursed przewalski horse

So many antelopes and ungulates in general are needed. The problem is the diversity in game is not representative of real life diversity

Gerenuk
Saiga
Nilgai
Blackbuck
Musk Ox
Muntjac
Japanese Serow
Eland
Kudu
Guar
Takin
Markhor
Duiker
Dik dik
Musk deer or fanged deer
Chiru
Kilpspringer
Mouse deers

So many more. If I can plug my ungulate talk thread in my signature where there are more suggestions by group of ungulate as well

Yeah there's really no end to the number of ungulates I think could reasonably be included. I have my top picks, like everyone else;
  • Blackbuck.
  • Some kind of Asian deer (muntjac, sure, but also Visayan spotted, sika, chital, sambar, Pére David's...).
  • Common waterbuck, which doesn't get a ton of traction but is quite common in zoos.
  • Arabian oryx, which, yes, is kind of same-y to the gemsbok, but it's unique enough (unlike, say, the East African oryx) to warrant inclusion, and covers a region the game has barely touched.
  • Bontebok.
  • Sumatran rhinoceros.
  • Barbary sheep, urial, and markhor.
  • Japanese serow.
I'll never complain about a new ungulate being added. Edit: Except the blue wildebeest, but to be fair I wasn't so much annoyed that it was included at all, just that it was included in that pack and that I had to pay for it despite it being a very obvious anniversary candidate.

I visited this zoo for the first time a few months ago. I’ve got some serious welfare concerns for some of their species (giraffes very notably among them) but other species had amazing open enclosures so it was sort of a mixed bag. Lots of rarities, though. I’m not sure I’m thrilled about this giraffe having to live in the environment there (probably 3-4 times as many giraffes as should reasonably fit in that enclosure, fully gravel flooring, no vegetation) but I still want to go back and see this little one as soon as possible.

Yeah. But, it's still better than being in the wild and risk getting killed by poachers. I just found out that 2/3 of the Kenyan white giraffes were killed by poachers. Horrible, truly horrible.

I can't stand poachers, but I know that, sooner or later, they'll get what's coming to them

I always aporeciate an arabian oryx inclusion.
