Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

Would the baboon really need THAT many new animations, it's not like baboons really use their tails for much anyway. I feel like it would be pretty easy to make in the rigging/animation department.
The tail itself would need to be animated, so it does not go through the ground when the Baboon would be sitting etc. And yes, they would most likely provide the Baboon with some new animations, even if it did not really "need" it. They usually do, to differentiate the animals a bit more, like the animal is made from another, but it has different mating animations, animations to play with enrichments, sometimes sleeping animations etc.

Frontier has made custom software that allows them to make new rigs in about 2 days (their words) and have an animation mapper that allows them to map animations from almost any animal to any other animal (the example they gave was mapping an elephant animation to the tortoise rig). They've build an entire ecosystem for them to easily make new rigs and animations without having to start from scratch every single time.

It still baffles me that we're 3 years after we got the video detailing large parts of the process and we're still here saying things like "Frontier will only do one new rig", meanwhile we have actual information on their workflow and see the results of that. 😅 Or do we keep forgetting that even animals we don't expect to get new animations get them (Nile Lechwe is a prime example)

So what @NZFanatic said is correct, it's perfectly possible for them to have a devil and a kiwi in the same pack; as their tools would easily allow them to get a headstart on the kiwi rig and animations by starting with the ratite animations they already have.

I appreciate the shoutout, but honestly what little I know about this stuff is what I've absorbed through osmosis from you and others more "in the know". 😅

One cobra, one chameleon (can't decide if Parson's, panther or Jackson's), one gecko and one python.

And the green anaconda.

And more turtles.

Oh man i wish they will give us a free exhibit animal in between DLCs or both a WTE animal and regular exhibit animal in every DLC.
Well I wouldn't mind getting 5 exhibit species alongside an update adding new sizes for the anniversary. Rather then out standard habitat animal. Whya do you think?

Honestly, I would kill for this. I just don’t know what animals could pick, there are so many good options!
  1. Bearded Dragon
  2. Leopard Gecko
  3. Basilisk Lizard
  4. Frilled Lizard
  5. Madagascar Day Gecko
  6. Leaf Tailed Gecko
  7. Tokay Gecko
  8. Corn Snake
  9. Indian Cobra
  10. Gaboon Viper
  11. Green Anaconda
  12. Emerald Tree Boa
  13. Bushmaster
  14. Literally any endangered turtle species, very important conservation effort there!
  15. Mata Mata
  16. Mountain Chicken
  17. Cororobee Frog
  18. Coquí Frog
  19. European Tree Frog
  20. Hellbender
  21. Oriental Fire Belly Toad
  22. Cane Toads
  23. Tomato Frog
  24. Pac-Man Frog
  25. Leaf Cutter Ants
  26. Honey Pot Ants
  27. (Any other ant species, give them to me!!!!!)
  28. Lord Howes Stick Bug
  29. Honey Bees
  30. Hercules Beetle
  31. European Stag Beetle
  32. American Burying Beetle
  33. Aquatic insects species (any are cool)
  34. Orchid Mantis
  35. Chinese Praying Mantis
  36. Giant Millipede species
  37. Maybe a weta? That would be cool!
  38. An endangered butterfly species would be cool or maybe some moths?
  39. Okay here’s a stretch, give me some fish. They are perfect for exhibits, there are some species that are undergoing conservation efforts and are perfect for planet zoo. Like a pupfish! Otherwise, redbelly piranha, clownfish, etc.
  40. A small mammal like a naked mole rat is perfect for exhibits, other than that maybe another rodent species like the harvest mouse?
  41. For walkthrough exhibits I am begging on my knees for people friendly birds, like lorikeets, budgies, Inca terns, etc.

I think we'd only really need smaller sizes. The current exhibit we have is huge. You can fit 3 reticulated pythons in it. Zoos have stuck 3 reticulated pythons in it.
If y'all check the Houston Zoo reptile house, there is a huge exhibit in the very center that used to be home to Blanco, the leucistic gator we had (he's since been moved to Crocodile Encounters in a much larger pond). Now, we have 3 pythons in it (standard, albino, and melanistic)...

So, basically, we don't need a larger exhibit. We need a smaller one. Ideally, we could have one that's 1/4 the size (similar to the counters) and maybe one that's 1/8 the size (similar to the ATMs and small vending machines).
With the way construction works, we could also have one that's half as tall

I went into a little more detail in some other post about this, but large snakes are unfortunately commonly kept in way to small enclosures. I disagree that our exhibit is big enough to house multiple of those giant snakes. And, this differs by country and some dont even have such laws, but in my country a 4x4m terrarium doesnt meet the minimum official dimensions required to keep a reticulated python or green anaconda if you calculate with a bodylength of 7m, even less so if you calculate with the (admittedly rather unlikely) maximum size of 9m given in literature or want to keep more than one individual.

I don't know. Really, how often does a python stretch out? I've read that the general rule is just enough to stretch out, which could also include height. Reticulated pythons grow to about 4m, typically. 4m is just the right side for them. 9m, even 7m, is IF they get to be full grown

As an example, this is the python enclosure. There are 3 inside. It's longer than it is wide. This is roughly the size of the in-game exhibit
