Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

Yeah steady progress, im still doubting a mid September release though
I mean, that's the DLC itself though (unless I'm mistaken) so it's getting pretty close to done. The last few DLCs have had anywhere from 11-14 days between announce and release.

I'm going to be an optimist and assume we get a tease the first proper week in September (say, with a special livestream on Wednesday the 6th and the announcement on the 7th) with the pack releasing on September 19th (12 days after announcement).

I'm just not sure they would have it done and hold off on release unless there was a specific rationale for it. And given the community response to the Arid pack it would behoove them to get something out sooner, rather than later... It could be later. I'm just not sure what benefit there would be to waiting.

So with only minimum one week left until we get some info what’s everybody’s locked in guess for the next pack? After you guess you can’t change your guess.
I'm going to say "temperate" but deviate slightly and suggest that it will be Woodlands. Same concept, but a bit more specific with the name.

My "ranked-choice" guesses for the theme are a treetops pack and a domestics pack. Avoiding highlands/mountains for this particular release because it's just not suited very well for scenery, TBH.

I prefer a peccary, we already have 3 suids and 0 tayassuids (peccaries). Wild boar is kind of aight but definitely not something that is required, it's kinda like the wapiti or the bighorn sheep.
I don’t really have think either are required. Pigs in general we have 3 which I think is enough compared to other groups in game. Bighorn I believe is important to get but that’s a different topic.

Apart from what exactly the new DLC will contain, my only wish is just less drama than it was with the previous one.

It ruined the whole fun for me. I thought the porcupine would make people happy and the only thing that was actually discussed all the time was Dama gazelle and 1000 ideas why she should not be included.

At least the porcupine got the attention and praising it deserved. Every comment I saw regarding it was very positive. I’m just happy it’s design was made injustice.

fluffy and adorable
Yea, very cute but please, I did say I want tree kangaroo... 😭

If I remember correctly, prod final was being updated constantly 3-4 weeks before the announcement for the twilight pack. Could be next week who knows, I should be more excited since a September release would mean a wonderful birthday present to myself.
Yeah, TBH, if I recall it tends to get updated even after the announcement too. Just means we're within striking distance of an announcement, I think.

Happy early birthday, regardless! Haha.

I'm locking in a temperate pack with a split focus between Australia and Europe as my final guess. ITS TASMNAIAN DEVIL TIME.
Realistic expectation

1. Tasmanian devil
2. Wild boar
3. American black bear
4. Anual habitat bird: Mute swan/mallard duck - Greater rhea - Kiwi - Wild turkey - Golden pheasant --- could be no bird at all replaced by something equally boring as the previous two options or something like a squirrel or rabbit.
5. Regular exhibit.

Improved version of previous pack:

1. Tasmanian devil
2. Collared peccary
3. Sloth bear
4. A bird (any of the mentioned above)
5. WTE animal

Wishfull expectation (personal wishlist for a temperate pack)

1. Tasmanian devil
2. Mandarin duck - Black necked swan - Golden pheasant - Kiwi - Greater rhea
3. Patagonian mara
4. Collared peccary
5. WTE: Hummingbirds

My Ideal Temperate Pack

. American Black Bear
. Coyote
. White-tailed Deer
. Wild Boar
. WTE Flying Squirrel

Includes log cabin scenery and props (e.g. Fireplace set, wall—mounted animal head sculptures, some basic wooden furniture, tents, fences, maybe a Land Rover inspired vehicle, table lamps, stuff that could be used for cabins or maybe even old western stuff.)

Free Update includes the following:

Ride Vehicle Variation, different kinds of vehicle options for different themes

Some Trees have seasonal colors variants

Toggleable WTE path

Exhibit Scaling

My life will be super happy with Tasmanian devil if it is a temperate pack

I get people outside of Australia are super keen on black swan. But as an Aussie it really isn't an animal of interest compared to a Brolga, lyrebird or kookaburra which are 3 iconic animals in Australia.

The lyrebird is on our 10c coins. Brolga is an Aboriginal icon and used in many Dreamtime tales that belong to the Mambaliya-Wawukarriya clan and kookaburra is very common and everyone knows it's iconic laugh.

Of these three birds I would be picking Brolga both as an iconic bird but also very fitting nod to Aboriginals and recognising their iconic dieties in Dreamtime tales (we are currently going through mandatory voting for the Aboriginal and Torres straight Islander voice to be a key representative in parliament.)

It would be a wonderful coincidence. But I get political movements in games is usually not ideal.

P.s- I would love more Aboriginal art paintings, animal shapes and murals.
