Fallout 1st

Yeah, I've been a fan of Bethesda since Daggerfall. (showing my age now)
But lately, not so much a fan anymore. Something is seriously wrong with Beth these days.
Sad
It's kind of easy to see what it is.
With Starfield and TESVI dragging their heels (possibly on backburner for lack of ideas) they just thought that they would help themselves with hopping on the survival bandwagon and make themselves a nice little cashgrab asset flip with no effort whatsoever.
After all, people love their buggy games, right? They didn't mind the 23 re-releases of Skyrim in 9 years, why would they mind this.
What they failed to realized that the thing that people love about Bethesda games is modding.
They always were great only at releasing crumpled dirty paper, but that was great because everybody could draw what they wanted on it. So they released another one, only this time they laminated it so everybody is literally stuck with just that crumpled dirty paper.

They apparently forgot where their strength came from -------Fans and Mod Makers.
I hope they wake up to that fact soon. :(

Yeah, it would be awesome if they just came forward and said "Look, this was a monumental screw-up, we're calling it off. Sorry. We'll do better next time."
But I don't think it works like that.

They seem to be doubling down on the stupid, banning a lot of theit community members and the manager of the FO 76 map site.

When one is waist-deep in a quick sand, they should consider every move carefully. Not Bethesda, though, Bethesda is going to shoot the guy who's offering a rope.

L
I would charge them for the rope. Offer it in installation packages of a foot at a time. Additional fees for tying all the pieces together.

I remember I was once excited for Fallout 76.

Once.

But that is long past. A shame, really, it sounded like a lot of good ideas, but the handling was atrocious. The money-grubbing was, in particular, a huge turnoff. Fallout First is going to be the new Horse Armor for a while, I think.

There was a lot crap Bethesda did between "horse armor" and. Fallout 1st. Bethesda monetized mods through creation club, the numerous "remasters" of skyrim, legal actions against modders along with marketing lies, hacking, security breaches and false advertising to name a few.
