I am often left wondering why that in the year 2015, gaming rigs can be pretty powerful nowadays, Why does this game have next too nothing in terms of graphic settings? A lot of the typical graphic settings just aren't in game. And zero advanced options at that.

I would really like an aswer to this, is it by design? Did they forget? Why oh why that in a space game with spectacular potential for graphics were these options not implemented?


BF4 options..Aren't these standard nowadays?

And they no doubt wonder why some people get so fed up of being treated like morons.

If I hear or read "Oh it's so awesome, and we are all so excited, but we can't tell you anything" from FD once more I'm likely to burn ED to disc just so I can smash it.

Mushrooms are kept in the dark because they grow better that way, the same cannot be said for online communities.

Hey! I've been deciding between purchasing ED and Star Citizen for the past few months, and I just wanted to say I went ahead about bought Star Citizen last night, solely based on what degeneracy I've seen from ED's 'development'. Thanks for pushing me to a decision! Sorry you guys have to deal with this .

Really? Just wait till CR will jump onto xbox and ps4 and the downgrade hit your game too.

I think we both know that won't happen :p

Star Citizen is still in the 'promises, promises' phase. When it reaches 'delivery' we'll talk again. ;)

Surely you don't suggest that the devs are childish and unprofessional enough to actively do their jobs worse by sabotaging communication, just because someone was mean to them on the internet? I mean, FD have their failings, but I don't think they're *that* bad.

I'd begin to hate everyone in a month or two if I had to read it constantly. These old forum platforms are a scourge, the community is only partially responsible. No self-moderation of any kind, of course it's going to be a cesspool.

To be fair I checked lately what the hell is going on with light.

Conclusion is that in 1.3 cockpit itself has no light sources except for the holograms. I don't know if in combat demo they simulated somehow the light reflected from ice, or there was lighting issue (I remember release notes mentioning a bug where light would flow in through the back of the ship). To make a fair comparison in terms of textures you should orient the ship so there's some light from the star entering.

That's a community manager's job to read those posts, pass the issue to the devs, edit their response to be readable and post it on forum.

Nope, those screens are made right after it gets loaded. Even some of the asteroids are in the same place, if you care to look. But everyone can just fire up the original Combat Demo and see for themselves.

They might be in same place, but light position is not; notice how on one image, asteroids are lit from side facing your ship, and on other they are lit from side away from your ship.
To make comparison legit, position your ship in way that light is similar/same in both cases.

For the there's enough info to decide which one looks better. Everyone can make a similar thing, it doesn't have to be me.

Some people claim that there was no downgrade. What else can be better used to prove that there was than an 7 months or so old build?

I see.

That's what I was trying to show with the above screenshots. There is no difference between low and ultra graphic settings - the graphics are broken at the moment. So they certainly don't look as good as before, and in fact can't possibly look as good as before. The fact that some people don't seem to be able to see the difference...well... :D

I'm perfectly fine with people that dont care that much about the graphics so they don't really see the problem and can still enjoy the game - I can't. Not in a almost AAA mega space game.
