FAO OF FRONTIER, cheating, clever or just morally reprehensible?

The Goons plan to infiltrate Arissa and deliberately prepare negative income system to cripple Arissa's faction from the inside out.

Is this:

A) An exploit of game mechanics.

B) A clever tactic that more people will/should adopt.

C) A tactic that is immoral but shouldn't be considered an exploit.

D) Something else entirely.

What??
Aren't us Imperials supposed to value honour?
And why work so hard against our allies (different powers, but Empire all the same) in an such an underhanded manner? Seems like effort that could be best used elsewhere.
I don't like this.

Regardless of who's plan it is, to me its a valid path to damage the opposing faction or at least to try to. Nothing i would do personaly, but neither do i see something wrong about it. Besides, i don't think it will be quite as successfull as they hope too. But we will see.

EDIT: And to those speaking of honor and empire. Might want to check how politics were handled in ancient Rome, which is the very basis for the ED Empire. Those people are fighting for influence, power, superiority. Thats no "lets get ourselves a big hug, a nice party and afterwards we depart, cause we love each other sooo much". Won't maybe go as far as to kill, for sure not that far as to risk destabalising the Empire, but for dead sure to use every weakness the others have and exploit them to ensure the own interests.

I don't think I'd want to try to run agaisnt the wildebeest herd myself, I think these kind of efforts are going to be in vain.

I saying that, the herd is really thick - and already likes swimming upstream through croc infested waters.

We don't need the goons, we're doing just fine sabotaging our selves so far. :)

Oh well, still wish you good luck that it might change. Despite me beeing pledged to Zemina Torval (Arrisas Ethos simply doesn't suit my gameplay), i like her style and thinking. Whoever might "win" in the end, as long as its not Patreus. :D

"When the wind of change comes, some people build walls. Other people build windmills."
- I don't see the harm in joining the very same faction the goons are trying to expand. Politics has always been, and always will be an ebb and flow.

"Every disadvantage can be made into an advantage, all it takes is a change of heart."
- If you are aligned with the goons faction, you are letting them do your dirty work for you, whilst you reap the benefits. The goons can't hustle you in solo mode.

Politically, every power offers one or the other advantages and disadvantages. It's "a change", and every change can be exploited. It makes no real difference to me what change that is. In the end of the day, everything is transitory. One must just make sure one isn't part of the "transition casualties". Those are the real fools.

I actually like Aisling, because she doesn't affect anything on controlled systems. She's purely a deity. She reminds me a little of the Mother of Dragons, and I take well to being called one of her "Angels". I admit, I am smitten by Aisling.

But if someone were to topple Aisling, I wouldn't mind. I'd just join the next strongest faction, whilst keeping a Magazine with Aisling as the covergirl somewhere in my cockpit. Then after that faction get's toppled, I'll join the next highest faction.

I call it "surfing the wind the change."

If someone were to want to kill Aisling though, and leave me with nothing but the rest of the clowns on the roster to look at, that's when the hits the fan. That's when the angel wakes.

Legit....As long as there is a mechanic in place for the powers to discover the treachery and hunt the player. Without a system in place for responding to such tactics then it is exploiting a game mechanic IMHO.

I'm seriously thinking of defecting to Torval, the princesses seem to be attracting a big following, big crowds flow in one direction whether it's good or not.

I'll probably wait till I'm stocked up on Imperial Hammers though.

The mining lance is the best comedy weapon, I really hope they come in Huge size.

I totally want a huge lance.

Seems like a very valid tactic to me, things like this happen in real life all the time. Oops shouldn't have said that now special forces are going to come through the window and take me out.

Id say its actually a clever tactic that id expect more people to use. Im suprised tbh that there havent been any power forums for people who have signed upto a certain power to join and discuss tactics and talk about there next moves etc, although i guess it would take alot to moderate it and not have people from other factions joining etc might have to look at private forums for it idk. It will most likely happen though at some point.

There are sub-reddits for each faction.
