Had somebody arrive in a CZ on the opposite side to me - another Vulture. Never fought a Vulture before, but I kinda left him to it...until he fired on me. "Accident, sorry" - OK, no worries. Then a second time...hmm, this guy's a bit loose with his trigger-finger. Third time...

Right, off we go.

Pretty much pulled him to pieces, but stopped short of killing him once his thrusters gave out. Then he starts whining over text chat...so I walk him through the reboot/repair option. Once he's up and running, he starts acting all aggressive again over chat...

Fine.

<BOOM>

That's what I get for trying to be nice. I suspect he may have thought that the reboot/repair was a magic heal-all button ;)

I love threads like this, gives you justification for why you play in private groups or solo when the pvp'ers start whinging about people being carebears in solo/groups. I wonder why?

As I've stated, not a single pvper cares. There will always be people out there who are looking for a thrill, something given to you by player interaction. NPCs get boring after a while.

I'm aware, I wish he understood the irony of going out of his way to say he's blocking me (attention seeking behavior) for seeking attention by OPing a thread. I find people who exist solely to gather fake pixel bux don't have a sense of humor however.

I'm aware of what the reboot/repair function is for. I just find the mental image of somebody furiously rebooting their computer going "grrrrr" to be delicious.

That's nothing. Some people use a whole magazine of 9mm FMJ in the reboot process.

I decided to try my hand at some PvP in my shiny new Vulture and interdicted a Fed Dropship with a decent bounty.

He effortlessly demolished me. I caught up with him a few systems away, congratulated him and we talked combat strategy for a few minutes.

I think the reasoning is that this would look like lag while you were doing a grab. But... on my work PC, my "My Pictures" folder is on a really slow NAS, so a normal screengrab takes 3 or 4 seconds and a high res one takes 20 or so. Effectively, if you put your My Pictures folder onto a slow medium, you can tap "F10" to be invulnerable for a few seconds. FDEV!!!
