FD: Apparently Elite got noticed, not in a good way

Not quite as bad as the story I heard a while back about a person from EVE actually tracking a leader from a rival nullsec alliance down in real life and cutting the power from his house right before a big battle was about to happen. Still pretty amusing, though.

Which is why I have a 28 KW/h generator hooked to my house. Well, that and hurricanes.

Then I guess I must call my ELITE brethren, We must form a group of our own to Combat The EVE!

ps, pm me where these guys are, also if you wanna join us

Funny because I see WAY more Eve bashing on these forums than I ever see Elite bashing on the Eve forums...so which community is crap again? And yes, I play and love both games, quit lumping everybody into one mold.

Just to clear things up just a bit. I think most of the EvE bashing is coming from former EVE players like my self! 10+ years of dealing with crappy mind sets. !0+ years of sitting in POS'es all day, waiting to jump bridge to a battle that never happens, because someone is afraid to fight. 10 years of playing a game that totally supports the griefer mind set! I could go on, and on, and on.

So don't blame the fine folks of ED, just because your chickens have come home to roost.

Everyone should visit the EvE forums from time to time, to behold in person the fine ethical behavior that abounds there.

The intent seems to be to run Elite into the ground before it can take off. The plan is apparently to target and grief the living crap out of people, new players specifically until people quit and the game dies off.

That'll be sooooo hard to avoid! Well, actually, it'll be really, really easy because of Solo play mode.

God there are some REAL sad people out there, but thanks for supportin ED with you payments :)
But I consider this problem short lived as EASY to trace IP addresses.

Also ED must be doing something right for EVE players to take an interest and consider it a threat.

I take some comfort that Elite was first before EVE ever made it off the the drawing board, sorry EVE your are 30 years to LATE :)

All I can say is, thanks for giving FD money guys. Enjoy your stay and try not to get stomped by our own Pie Rats.

Eve combat and FD are apples and oranges honestly.....

The EVE devs have never tried to hide the fact that Elite was one of the major inspirations for the game.. cockpit vs point and click aside, version 1.0 of EVE in 2003 was extremely similar to E:D..

What's this? Goons ruin another game? lel

Also obligatory: EVE is dying.

But bad EVE memes aside, if you think EVE players will lose patience trying to camp a system for 12 hours waiting for someone to show up and then leave, think again. If there's one thing EVE players are good at it, it's waiting, not having fun, and then waiting some more.

We should welcome all players to the Elite Universe, even those that make open play a "harsh" place to be. If you want the challenge of pvp and human interference go open, if not just play solo till you are bored and go open. I play solo with my Cobra or open group with my brother. Sometimes I venture into open and test out pvp or play with other people, make a wing. If it gets to hot, back in solo and farm a little.

And after 12 hours a dreaded hacker comes in or somebody does logoffski on them to show that It Is Not EVE ™ :) All of that assuming their internet stars align and they actually get matched with somebody.

Wait... I thought on of those EVE-swarms invaded Elite in January.... or was it back in December. February? No.. it was March.... or... when was it? I forget, but I'm pretty sure I've read about at least a couple of these invasions. So, how did those work out?

I for one welcome these fantastic new players, thank you so much for supporting the developers and ensuring continued patches and updates!

I wish I had that much free time.

They don't sound like very smart people. So they're all going to buy the game, contributing to further development and they think they can run players out when there's a solo and private mode option? Oh dear....

I for one have lost count of the number of Ex-Eve players who've ruined E: D for me... oh no, wait... I haven't actually started any count. :D
