I don't really care about details underneath, all I care about how it looks&feels.
But yes, I was speaking about actually flying around, and SE looks significantly better for me (not to mention that it has much wider variety of planet types). But I have a pretty beefy PC, maybe this the problem that SE looks better on beefy hardware while ED is not as hardware-intensive but capped in quality (because of consoles, I wonder?)
Also it will be interested to see when Infinity Battlescape becomes available to try - from current closed testers it looks even better.
Then you are out of luck bud, the details underneath will determine whats on the outside and they matter if you care about them or not.
And you also mentioned I: too, which is nothing but another meat dish in the steak-burger comparison. Ribs maybe?
So, even if you start to roll on the floor kicking your feet, screaming you want that star, you want it now and you don't care how, you'll get the best FD has to offer without cutting down on their unalterable keystone feature:
1:1 scale galaxy, rendered one system at a time, with 1:1 scale planets.
If they can get this to work perfectly
and look better, they'll do it.
It has nothing to do with consoles, it has nothing to do with incompetence. It has everything to do with optimization and reaching the largest possible player base.
Also the flight model in SE is not actually a flight model. It moves the camera around based on your input, which is not flight. You say you care about 'how it feels'. SE has no feeling to it, it just looks cool.
