New Era entered full production in August 2018, after an unknown period in pre-production. Development of New Era began much earlier than August 2018. How you can think they have just "now" begun development I do not know.Well ... yes, any project starts with a long discussion. making decisions and clarifying desires. most likely, they were doing this until March 2019. and now, perhaps, they have already begun to proceed directly to development. but, so far it is not clear what happens in the end. besides, to say the frontier is now anything, it is not necessary that at least one of this will turn out to be true. remember, maybe that story from Gnosis, when he should have jumped into the col-70 sector. if yes, then remember how they made a stir around this event, and how did it end? try to remember. so they can say anything now. We are waiting for the end of 2020, there the case should be clarified.

It still feels incredibly late if aside of Beyond, which was a kind of maintenance mode, they only started developing the new content in Aug 2018.
Either they hit a major roadblock and had to scrap a lot of work/content, or the management simply failed. Or both.
That you (and others) so regularly state that you do not follow, and yet reply anyway is exactly why responses like this would be better to come from FDev. They don't need citations, an FDev post is a source.
New Era didn't start development in August 2018, that is when full production began. It was in pre-production for some time prior to that.
The Elite dev team is indeed working on things for Elite Dangerous.

That you ask for a new FDev post on a topic as a source when there may be already FDev posts as a source answering that exact topic is why you will see many patrons confused and asking what you really mean, I am afraid.
Precisely. You don't understand, or claim not to. Just leave it for FDev to respond to if you can't be bothered to be helpful. This conversation is an utter mess thanks to the 'confusion' of 'helpful' contributors. Responses like this are not helpful.
Could be true, but the way the otherwise well packaged Beyond season ended with a belated 'important community update' forum post by a CM suggests something went sideways. The long trek till late 2020 is awfully prepared at best.
No, this event was invented by the players. and its advertising was engaged in including frontiers. I still remember their Twitter entries with regards to the fact that something might be waiting for the gnosis there. well, then, of course, when even canonn were upset by the results of the event, they said something like "what, we immediately had to say" no - is it impossible "?" so, I am inclined to believe that they began to work on the new season (if they really started) only after the release of chapter 4 beyond. besides, David Braben said back in 2016 that they were already working on things like "space legs", "planet with atmosphere and life" and a bunch of other things ( Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/4l4f3c/ask_him_anything_david_braben_cocreator_of_elite/d3k96iy/?context=3

Actually that's what I suggested - it is just not delayed by 6 months, delayed by years. This is not a simple 'oh dear we still need time to polish it a bit further' delay.

Your comments are often helpful, your citations in particular (when you actually provide them). But your polarising responses and cynical claims to misunderstand do not help. I write far more than I actually post.
If I want understanding on someone's vague comment I'll ask for clarification. You aren't required to like that form of enquiry or communication; like I said you can ignore them if you wish.

And as far as I can see FDev have actually already posted a number of times responding to many concerns around.
Personally, I do not think the issue is really FDev not posting in response to concerns. They have done that, many times. The real issue here is some patrons simply not trusting those posts.
Now, personally I understand how each patron can have a varying degree of trust in a company, any company. Totally acceptable as that is based significantly on a personal perception and opinion. But precisely because of that different degree of trust (totally valid), more posts by that company repeating what they have already posted would most likely not be of help for those patrons with the lowest amount of trust. The only way to respond to those patrons is by regaining their trust with actual delivery and follow through. Until then, not much anyone can do.
