FDEV just gave VR users a good poke in the Eye!

Agree about the menus. Probably just an oversight though which should be easy enough to fix. Maybe raise it as a bug.

I'd recommend getting a gaming keypad. It's a lot easier to find the keys you need without looking. I don't use Voice Attack anymore as I find it's now quicker to use the keypad.

This... i use Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs and a Logitech G13 pad along with a keyboard with lit keys. I can blind type, so the lit keys allow me to position my hands correctly by peeking through the gaps around the nose cover.

Trashed the visuals? Your opinion mate, to my eyes it looks are whole world better.

...and that. The contrast is much better than before and the color saturation/tinting is also delivering a much more vibrant picture.
The beta was quite enjoyable and i am pleased to see the changes in the live build. I play Elite in VR exclusively for 2.5 years now.

I pretty much enjoy the new visuals in VR.

I must be lucky in that I had no VR issues, only improvements

That has been balanced out by disconnects I guess haha

I've only played for about an hour in the Rift but as soon as I put it on after the patch I thought there was a noticeable overall improvement in visual quality

I use HMD quality @ 1.50 and everything seems nice and crisp.

No issue in the FSS but I've not been in an asteroid field yet

Then into the cockpit and into a ring... the new fog shaders are mindblowing. :D

It's a bit of a mixed bag for me in VR. Mostly, things look better.. they seem a bit sharper and more well defined.

Every once in a while though, I get an odd 'god ray' that seems to be a bit overly intensive, but not enough to really bother me. I would prefer the menu fonts be a couple sizes larger as well, but overall the game looks pretty good for me in VR.

I haven't tried it on my Rift since the update, I play Elite on my Samsung Odyseey Plus. I am using a GTX 1080, I have Super Sampling at 1.0 and HMD at 1.75. I force 1.5x SS globally through Steam VR.

I do agree that I would like to see Mode Switch in a menu so I can just 'look click' it. For the time being, I set it to a key that I don't use for anything and mapped a command to that button in Voice Attack. I just say 'Next mode' to change back and forth between Cockpit and Discovery mode. It does the job for now.
