FDev licences new IP for 2021 game, starts dev later in 2019

Lynch's Dune... To be fair he asked himself to be credited as Alan Smithee for the TV release.

But yeah, it's a drug fueled abomination with Sting, Stewart and a chapman stick.

I think that one is already influenced by drugs you clearly havent seen jodorowsky's dune. (or anything by jodorowsky)

Ok, i'm calling it, its going to be based on Avatar. First or third person. You play as a human in an Avatar interacting with the natives.

You could be right. Having just looked at the logo for Avatar2, the thingy in the middle sort of reminds me of something familiar....

I'm thinking and wanting Avatar to be synergistic with ED.

But hoping for Godzilla! And a meta battle Royale. Thargoids vs Monsters!

I wonder if we get something from leftfield like a fast and furious game.
We know from the srv that frontier can make driving mechanics fun.

Personally i am expecting it to come from out of Universal or Disney as frontier have past relationships with them.

Could a wallace and gromit game be in the offing.

Nothing druggy about Lynch's Dune. More like a filmmaker crushed by the changing whims of the De Laurentiis family and a giant budget he wasn't used to. No final cut. A painful lesson to learn for sure!

I've worked with some of DL's people, apparently nobody considers it more of a tragedy than him. He'll wince with pain if it's mentioned.

And yet, somehow, its still my favourite film.

Are we sure it's not Jurassic World 3? They definitely need a new agreement for that one. The timeframe fits perfectly.

Sounds like a new IP for FD, not an existing one.

Also looks like Avatar is not an option. Checked that it looks like Ubisoft have the rights and are preparing a new game.

Looks like Indiana Jones is the next most likely then.

I like both that and the mini series, despite the shoestring budget. But alas, it cannot be a Dune license game, as that one went to Funcom. So expect a Dune MMO in a year or two. And no, I'm not kidding.

I loved 'Brazil' - such a weirdly brilliant film.

I thought he was referencing the weird radiator woman in Eraserhead

I loved the imagery and special effects in Lynch's Dune, I Hope Villeneuve can come up with something as memorable
