FDev need to do something about Lave

So because a small, salty group of gamers is upset that Lave isn't controlled by the Alliance they have continually kept Lave in an almost perpetual state of Lockdown for months. This is effectively locking out the majority of the community from being able to access Didi Vaterman. FDev should in my opinion either make it where Lave station can not be put in lockdown (as well as any other station required for engineer unlocks) or allow these markets to stay open even when the system is in lockdown. It's ridiculous that a small group of players can lock out an entire engineer for months just because they are mad a system isn't "green" anymore.

Lockdown didn't receive some tweaks already no? I think Lockdown is still fun concept, but it is way too easy achieved at the moment. It needs balancing.

As for Lave yeah, it is fun story. Lots of salt in that one :)

Pyrobee, the problem is anyone who knows BGS mechanics knows that each murder counts as a certain number of points while handing in bounties counts as a certain number of points. So a group continually kills any clean ship and unless they are massively outnumbered with bounties turned in after every kill it will never be out of lockdown longer than the cooldown period. I forgive you for your lack of BGS knowledge though. For more BGS knowledge check out the Mercs of Mikkunn guide on BGS.

The lockdown in lave is caused by people killing the NPC sidewinder there, which belongs to the Lave Radio faction and who currently owns the system

So why would the faction put it's self into lockdown when going into lockdown state is one of the precursors to tying to take over the system? That's like shooting yourself in the foot before you defend your sprint title..

In terms of keeping the system, having it in boom is far better, as not only is the system even more secure it's also better for the brandy

So as for who is putting it into lockdown, surely it makes more sense for those who are trying to take the system, than the system owners?

Let me just say that the group isn't that "small" + it isn't just 1 group and is doing it out of fun and in accordance to the game rules and mechanics.

Now try to self reflect and see who is actually acting salty... ;)

Wouldn't your time be best spent getting bounties and removing the lockdown instead of wasting time to whine on the forums?

Why don't you do something about it?

Or thet just remove lockdown as a state entirely. A gameplay feature that effectively kills gameplay is a bad idea.

In a galaxy this big lockdown does not kill general gameplay. :)
But engineers should definitely not be locked down.

I agree.
Engineers should be able to engineer, no matter the state of the system..
It should be easy to make an Engineer immune to lockdown.

The problem isn't lockdown or Lave, it's the balance between the actions required to cause lockdown and to prevent lockdown. These actions are not equally easy/difficult to do.

What FDev should do is getting the actions that are required to cause or prevent BGS states to be equally to do (the whole what is a transaction BGS debate).

And while they are at it they should take a really close look at UA bombing - not directly related to the BGS, but suffering from a similar disparity between what is required for the different effects.

What is the problem with UA bombing ? I am curious.

The balance between the required amount of UAs vs. meta-alloys and how long it takes to deliver those amounts. The recent inclusion of bigger UA resistant racks and the availability of UAs (in persistent spawn points) shifted that balance.

It is more easier to have MA than UAs and it has been already been nerfed by FD.
Secondly, UA bombing cannot be a problem since you have one week from start of brink phase. As i always say, it is useless UA bombing beside for money. I don’t get your point here.

…I don’t get your point here.

Simply the balance between actions required to do and the time they require to achieve the opposing effects.

If I'm not mistaken UAs can be obtained within/close to the bubble at persistent spawn points making obtaining them fast and easy, the new cargo racks allow for a higher amount of UAs without problems.
MAs need to be bought/obtained at the pleiades.

If X MAs are required to counter the effect of 1 UA, then both actions should take the same amount of time. (Same for lockdown - action and counter actions should require the same amount of time).

Emergent gameplay :D

But yeah, lockdown does seem a bit easy to achieve with some cheezy killing going on.

But as for the engineer, wasn't aware their services got locked down as well.... perhaps the solution is to stop engineer services from becoming unavailable then?

It's not the engineer, it's the source of the rare good needed to unlock her.
