[FDEV Please Comment exploit or feature?] Multiple fragments using Multiple abrasion blasters

They didn't nerf motherlodes. Please stop spreading this false information.

I've mined 2,000 tons of Void Opals without abusing the AB-bug and got ~15t of (refined, not chunks) Void Opals on average per motherlode in 3.3.01

This morning I cracked 7 core roids and am now sitting on 106 tons of refined Void Opals. 106 / 7 = 15.1

The yield of motherlodes didn't change. You can still make 100-150 mill/h. Good luck finding a better source of income.

Yeah, that's my experience post patch - averaging around 15t per roid. The profits from mining never were as disproportionate as some claim though - I've been making comparable money from haulage missions for over a year (greater if anything).

Incidentally, I notice that it no longer tells me how many chunks were freed after detonation - is that a new bug?
 
Yeah, it was exploitable. And I agree the fix wasn't stealthed - especially since it's the only reason this patch was rushed out. But leaving it out of the patch notes is pretty cowardly.

What this bug did though was add some skill to mining. They should have built on it, rather than nerf it completely. The way FD have handled this shows a lack of imagination - not something to be proud of in a team developing a space game.
Funny enough, while they “fixed” this, I ran into another bug. Tried to multicrew with a buddy who was mining to see if the turreted version of the tools was fun to use. It reset the mapping on some of my controls. When I went back to my ship, the changes held. It will take me a few hours to reset things. That’s pretty bad for a bug. Remapping my hotas because zi dared go into a multicrew? Yeah... I’m taking a break now. I’ll be back one of these days so not a quit post or anything, just a wth one.

I stopped using multiple abrasion blasters about a week ago as it compromised the build I wanted on the Cobra 4 - I prefer a "real" weapon in that slot as it lets me kill pirates as well. Plus I'm prob just as quick with 1 as I can strip a roid fast - fiddling about with multiples to achieve a "perfect" shot wastes time - I could just as quickly find and strip another roid.
I just made 66 mill in one 20 min run - ( 38 tons plus 8 in the hopper -3 roids cracked - all void opal- had to leave about 2 ton behind). Also killed 4 pirates - 2 in the asteroids when I arrived and a further 2 that tried to interdict me - sadly only npc's no "human" players willing to take a shot.
I would like it if multiple blasters let you dig deeper or somesuch - as that would be a tradeoff of sorts - combined with needing some skill. Would be happier personally if the seismic charge launcher could be got in a class 1 (make it weaker charges perhaps) get back my class 2 weapon slot that way.
Overall my rate of mining is unchanged with the patch, but I didn't find the "bug" particularly "game breaking" in the first place and I am still doing this as blowing things up and killing pirates who come to take my stuff is ....fun :) - the financial reward is fairly unimportant.
