FDev - Why the radio silence?

Another update from Ed on Lave Radio tonight:
Hot off the press from Lave Radio with an interview with Ed. Material limits are being raised when 3.0 goes live, according to the 'tier' of the material. So basically, the higher the tier, the more you can store. Ed wasn't sure of the exact numbers, but even the basic tier had more than 100.

Hey there,

Thanks for your feedback. You are right when you say that we're very busy right now getting ready for Beyond release and preparing what comes after that, too.

The developers, and the community team read the comments and feedback on the forums, social media, reddit and more, and communicate as much as we possibly can when we have clear and considered information to convey. For example, Sandro is putting together a post right now all about the changes coming with Crime and Punishment... much in the same way he did about the changes with Engineering. While you may not see comments and replies all day every day, everything is read through carefully and passed on to the development team, all of which are working very hard to make the best Elite Dangerous experience possible!

We have our weekly newsletter where we update our community on all the latest information, we hold regular livestreams where we discuss upcoming content with the developers (such as this Thursday's livestream which is a Q&A with the Lead Designer). We post patch notes, we update the community with post-livestream Q&As, and summaries of what we showed off on the streams. The focused feedback forum is an example of where we're making an effort to bring the community in to the discussion on future updates (and we'll be putting increased focus on this, and giving special attention to the FFF, when putting together the features coming as part of Beyond. We communicate through our social media channels, through individual channels on Discord, our developers are active on the forums, we send out emails to groups to engage with them and find out what in-game and out-of-game activity they have planned, and much more. Tonight, I'll be a guest on Lave Radio, talking about beta 3 and beyond (no pun intended).

Thanks.

Can I suggest you just abandon the cesspit that is Reddit? :p Then you can devote more time to your actual forums.

Speaking of newsletters, I didn't get mine last week. Feed the hamster please.

According to the current/near real time forum stats, there's currently 30 Frontier Employees (or varying roles) viewing the forums. Especially the 3.0 feedback forum, 3.0 bug reports forum, suggestions forum and Dangerous Discussion. Most of them are taking in feedback from folks, fixing bugs, and so forth.

This doesn't always translate to them replying to threads that they're reading. They're quite busy this week into next week, and have been very busy since the turn of the new year. :)

Amazing and also hard to believe. There certainly isn't that level of interaction taking place. Perhaps this is to the OP's point: we're seeing/hearing nothing but mainly silence. Hard to believe there's any FDev staff snooping the forums let alone 30+... Really hard to believe. As example on this front page right now, aside from this thread, there's only 1x thread with a little red symbol showing any FDev interaction - 1x out of 25x. Look at page #2 or #3 or the next 10 pages and there's about 1 per page of 25 threads where a company rep gets involved, and even then the posts that are added by the company rep are mainly cute jokes or even pokes at customers. Not helpful really.

Suggestion here is to really take a look at the community support that's being provided.

Brett said viewing, not posting.

I have nothing bad to say about FD. Their support dealt with my game crashes - which seems to not be Elite's problem at all - to no end. So praise all the way.

Some changes that are just based on feedback during the beta:

- several Engineer tweaks and changes
- several C&P tweaks and changes
- changes to T7
- changes to Chieftain
- changes to interaction with megaships
- increase material storage
- probably something else that I don't remember right now
- changes to synthesis

So basically they changed stuff in every area of the beta based on community feedback. Maybe it's not your individual feedback, but you can hardly say they wouldn't listen.

Yeah...and what about the combat XP division that occurs in any wing/crew activity?

Sure would like to hear what Fdev is thinking about that. Because of it I haven't fired up Elite since fall of last year, I think? Daresay it's getting on my nerves.
